Just as the March 2009 edition of our newsletter was being put to bed, the BBC were airing a repeat of a ‘Dragon’s Den’ programme where one of the applicants was pitching a ‘new’ type of cable clamp called the ‘Rapstrap’.
With slightly unfortunate timing, this repeat episode coincided with the news that the Intellectual Property Office (formerly known as the Patents Office) have issued an opinion that the ‘Rapstrap’ infringes the patent held by Canford supplier Millepede that covers the non-crush cable ties which have been sold by Canford since 2006!
Canford, wherever possible, seeks to support original designers and patent holders and have always been impressed by the Millepede product, which is the optimum design of tie for use with High Definition video as it does not crush the cables to the detriment of the HD signal.

The good news is that it won’t cost anything like as much as the Dragons must have paid – try them yourself today for free, just email your details to millepede@canford.co.uk for a free sample.
