To provide detailed technical drawing (draughting) and component designs to BS8888 in accordance with the company’s quality assurance standards and project specifications.

Main Role and Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Head Engineer and Design Team to create detailed CAD drawings and component designs for part manufacturing and prototyping, ensuring compliance with BS 80000 standards.
- Support the design team with engineering change control, including processing change proposals to maintain product availability for manufacturing.
- Perform drawing office duties, including document control.
- Liaise with suppliers to address technical queries and ensure project progress.
- Adhere to quality standards and departmental procedures to maintain best practices in design and manufacturing.
Skills and competencies
- Education & Technical Knowledge: Mechanical Engineering degree with an understanding of manufacturing techniques, including sheet metal fabrication, turned parts, extrusions, and plastic moulding.
- CAD Proficiency: Strong skills in accurate 2D and 3D modelling using CAD software.
- Electronics Expertise: Qualification or experience in electronics, with knowledge of PCBs, embedded products, and general electronic principles.
- Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with both A/V and Broadcast products and associated industries.
- Attention to Detail: Methodical and organised approach, with a strong focus on technical accuracy and problem-solving.
- Communication & Collaboration: Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work effectively within a team and liaise with suppliers.
- Time Management: Ability to prioritise tasks, manage workload efficiently, and contribute to departmental and company objectives.
Qualifications / Experience Required
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Extensive 2D and 3D CAD design experience, with a strong background in drafting within a design department. Proficiency in AutoCAD and Inventor is essential.
- Electronics qualification or relevant experience, including knowledge of PCB design and embedded products.
- Strong literacy skills, with the ability to produce clear technical documentation and reports.
