Marketing Manager (Washington)

Hours: Monday to Friday (37.5 per week)
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Location: Canford Audio Limited, Elliott House, Crowther Road, Washington, NE38 0BW, UK (in person)

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Marketing Manager to lead our marketing initiatives and drive brand growth. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in digital marketing, project management, and leadership. This role requires a strategic thinker who can analyse market trends and develop effective marketing strategies to engage our target audience.


Main Role and Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage daily operations of the Marketing Department, providing leadership and support to a team of two direct reports.
  • Develop, refine and execute an annual marketing strategy including overseeing the evolving digital marketing strategy.
  • Plan, coordinate, and oversee exhibitions and events to maximize engagement and brand visibility.
  • Analyse, interpret, and report on the effectiveness of marketing activities to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Elevate Canford's presence and reputation both locally and globally.
  • Craft compelling content across various formats, including press releases, news articles, email campaigns, editorial pieces, and brochures.
  • Interpret technical data into clear, impactful marketing materials tailored to target audiences.
  • Conduct competitor analysis to inform strategies and ensure competitive positioning.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including external press contacts.
  • Oversee and drive engagement with the internal marketing platform (Intranet SharePoint) to ensure effective internal communication.
  • Negotiate contracts with stakeholders as needed, such as buying and selling advertisement space.
  • Serve as the lead advocate for Canford’s Community Ambassador Programme, driving community engagement initiatives.
  • Travel within the UK to meet suppliers and customers, as well as attend exhibitions within the UK and Europe, as required.

Skills and competencies:

  • Broadcast and Pro Audio/Video product knowledge and technical understanding.
  • Creative approach with the ability to work under pressure and to short timescales.
  • Strong copywriting experience, with excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • The ability to manage multiple projects/tasks simultaneously.
  • Have a strong understanding of effective marketing communications using current and emerging technologies.
  • Excellent commercial negotiation skills.
  • Team player who can lead and inspire.
  • In front of Camera Presentation skills.

Desirable:

  • Experience of NPS and / or other customer service tracking metrics.
  • Video creation / presentation and some photography.
  • Experience in running community / schools outreach programmes and attending careers fairs.
  • Budget management.

Qualifications / Experience Required:

  • 2+ years’ experience in a marketing B2B role.
  • Marketing Degree, or equivalent would be an advantage.
