New additions to our range of loudspeaker cables have been launched and are now available on this website or by calling our sales hotlines. The LFH™ loudspeaker cables range now comprise HLS-LFH for specialist 100V speaker systems, GPS-LFH general purpose speaker cable and MCS-LFH multicore speaker cable, with the latter two coming in both 2 core and 4 core versions.
Canford’s trademarked LFH range of low fire hazard (‘LSOH’) loudspeaker cables has now expanded and sits alongside the existing range of speaker cables. MCS-LFH comes in two and four-core 2.5mm sq. cross section versions and is intended for fixed installation loudspeaker wiring. Core pairs are colour-coded using the resistor colour code cables (not mains colour codes) as there is no standard coding for loudspeaker and printed for unambiguous phasing.
GPS-LFH is a general purpose low fire hazard loudspeaker cable similar in construction to 2-core and 4-core mains cables, but manufactured specifically for use as loudspeaker feeds. There are two 2-core versions employing 0.75mm sq and 1.5mm sq conductors and one 4-core version with a 0.75mm sq conductor. Cores are twisted, coloured red and black (GPS-LFH 2 core) or red, black, violet and grey (GPS-LFH 4 core). As with MCS-LFH the GPS-LFH cable is marked ‘Loudspeaker cable’ to clearly distinguish it from mains cables for safety reasons.
Canford also manufacture a specialist LFH loudspeaker cable designed specifically for 100V line systems. The HLS-LFH cable contains two tinned 0.5mm sq twisted copper cores and has a tubed LFHTM overall sheath which is easy to strip ready for termination.
