Suitable for data networking, CCTV security and audio visual applications, the ES408 Series offers a range of cabinets to rack-mount 19-inch equipment on walls. With light weight, welded-steel construction for strength and rigidity, they are available in six heights, two depths and two colours and are supplied complete with a toughened glass door. Side panels are removable; rear panels are fixed, with a cable 'knock-out'. Each cabinet is supplied with a mounting bracket; the bracket us fixed to the wall, the cabinet is lifted and secured on the bracket - a quick and easy, 'one-man', installation.
Alternatively, the upgraded versions, see below 'Design Change Information', will take accessory castors or feet, for use when the cabinets are freestanding.

The racks are available in two depths, 450mm or 600mm. Each rack has four folded-steel pillars forming the frame of the rack, fixed to the top cover and the base and integral with the fixed panel in the case of the rear pillars. Horizontal, front to back, flanges are incorporated in the base and top; front and rear 19-inch mounting-profiles fix to the flanges, and are adjustable through the depth of the cabinet, to suit installation of rack slides and deep or shallow equipment.
The doors fit flush, within the cabinet. The front doors are toughened glass with extruded edges and have a cylinder lock. Quick-release hinges improve access in confined spaces. The two steel side-panels fit to the bottom of the rack and have spring-loaded catches and a cylinder lock at the top.
Top covers and bases have air vents at the side and front. Each has a 'knock-out' rectangular panel towards the rear for cable entry. All tops have two perforated grills (blanked off) suitable for 120mm diameter fans. Racks are supplied with a pair of lightweight chassis guides.

Replacement steel doors offer a greater level of security for 6U and 9U cabinets. Design Change Information
This range will shortly be upgraded. The main changes are: Changes in the fan grille design on the top will increase ventilation. 'Knock-outs' are to be added on the base to add adjustable feet or castors, when used floor standing. Front and rear mounting profiles are to be attached with self-tapping screws rather than screws and cage nuts, saving time and increasing accuracy. Cable access 'knock outs' are to be added to the rear panel; the 6U version will have one, all others will have three. Cable access entrances on the top cover and bottom are to be moved closer to the rear for improved cable access. Rear panel mounting holes are to be brought closer together.
During the change-over period, Canford will be supplying both old and new designs, depending on height and colour, as old stocks are replaced with the new designs.
