NEUMANN SUB-BASS ACTIVE LOUDSPEAKERS

Neumann sub bass loudspeakers have been designed to sit alongside Neumann near field monitors to increase bass extension and maximum sound level, decreasing harmonic and inter-modulation distortion. One model is also suggested for reproducing the LFE channel or the 'Sub' signal of a bass managed multi-channel source. Other models also have connectivity and inbuilt electronics to use them as the hub for interconnecting multi-channel systems up to 7.1. All are aimed at professional applications in recording or mastering studios, OB vans, broadcast, film production, or as part of a multi-channel playback system.

KH 750 DSP D G

KH750 DSP is an active sub-bass speaker capable of producing 105dB SPL. It has been designed for use in recording studio, broadcast, or editing suite environments, however the compact 383 x 330 x 383mm dimensions also lends to home studio or domestic audio system applications. Neumann suggest the KH 750 can be used an extension to the KH 810 G, KH 870 G, or KH 805 A G subwoofer systems where more coverage is required. They suggest it is also a good match to the Neumann KH 80 DSP A G active near-field 2-way monitors, extending the systems bass response to 16Hz, +/-6dB, or 18Hz, +/-3dB. A single 10-inch driver, which is protected by a metal grille, is positioned on the front of the unit, will all I/O connectivity and control located on the rear of the cabinet.

Left and right analogue I/O by way of balanced 3-pin XLR connectors while 192kHz, 24-bit SPdif/AES digital I/O is via BNC connectors. 100-240V (50/60Hz) AC mains power is by way of IEC connector with latching rocker switch for on/off operation. Various switches enable the user to lift the input ground, adjust the output gain (94/100/108/114dB SPL), adjust the phase (0/45/90/135/180 degrees), and switch the input mode, along with bass management activity and auto-standby modes. Rotary controls allow the user to adjust the input gain level +2 to -12dB, and adjust the low cut gain 0 to -12dB. A network control point with RJ45 connector allows the user to control, via the Neumann.Control software for iPad, functions and settings not available on the rear control panel. The speaker is painted in metallic anthracite.

Power consumption: 18W, idle; 410W full output. Dimensions: 383 x 330 x 383mm (H x W x D) mm. Weight: 19.5kg.

KH 805 A G

Discontinued

KH805 A G is a 200W, 112dB (maximum), sub-bass speaker, designed to be used as part of a stereo system, more specifically with the KH 120 A G or KH 310 A G monitors, extending the low-frequency output limit to 18Hz. When used with Neumann near-field monitors, due to the KH 805 A G taking the LF load, the maximum SPL can be increased by up to 8dB due to the use of internal crossovers. A 4th-order, 80Hz crossover can be activated to insert the 80Hz high-pass filter into the signal path before the left/right outputs. The KH805 A can also be used as an extension sub bass unit for the KH 810 G or KH 870 G loudspeakers. The 10-inch driver on the front of the sub bass is protected with metal grille. All connectivity and control is via the rear of the loudspeaker cabinet. Input is by way of balanced 3-pin XLR connectors for left and right; the 'right' input may be selected to be a 'daisy chain' input. Output is via balanced 3-pin XLR sockets for left and right, as well as a third balanced 3-pin XLR output for 'daisy chain' out. Adjustable switching on the back of the loudspeaker includes parametric EQ with three-stage rotary controls, input ground-lift, low-cut at 40Hz, subwoofer phase (0/-45/-90/-135 degree and 0/180 degree), input gain, output level (94/100/108/114dB), and bass management control. The AC mains input is by way of an IEC C14 inlet connector. Power is controlled by a latching on/off rocker switch. The speaker is painted in metallic anthracite.

Power consumption: 14W, idle; 280W full output. Dimensions: 360 x 330 x 645 (H x W x D) mm. Weight: 26kg.

KH 810 G

This sub-bass speaker has the same acoustic and physical properties of the KH 805 A G however it is designed for higher definition audio formats such as 7.1 multi-channel systems. Ass a result, the I/O connectivity differs and is much more detailed. Electronically-balanced inputs include left, right, centre, left surround, right surround, left back, right back, and direct in/sum, all via 3-pin XLR connectors. All of these inputs are mirrored with balanced outputs using 3-pin XLR connectors. An Ethercon input allows for remote control as RS-232 compatibility. Other switching includes bass management, rear-channel bass-management, volume control (active/disabled), test signal, subwoofer gain (100/114dB switched), input gain, subwoofer phase, parametric EQ with three-stage rotary control, and low cut. The AC mains input is by way of an IEC C14 inlet connector. Power is controlled by a latching on/off rocker switch.

Power consumption: 20W, idle; 290W full output. Dimensions: 360 x 330 x 645 (H x W x D) mm. Weight: 26kg.

KH 870 G

The KH870 G has the same functionality and controls as the KH 810 G however it can provide an output of 400watts with a maximum of 118dB, and a frequency response of 18-300Hz via the dual 10inch woofers.

Power consumption: 25W, idle; 550W full output. Dimensions: 735 x 330 x 645 (H x W x D) mm. Weight: 47.1kg.
