RDL AV INTERFACES - STICK-ON Series

RDL Stick-on series is a range of small enclosed “black boxes” with screw terminals on one side, and a self-adhesive strip on the base. This range, already popular in America offers a simple, high quality solution to temporary or permanent interfacing, communication and distribution problems especially in theatre, PA and broadcast.

All ST modules measure 74 x 38 x 15mm.

CONTROLLED RELAYS

ST-ACR1 Audio Controlled Relay

Identical relay to ST-LCR series, but actuated by audio line level sources. Audio specification: Input impedance: 10k bridging; operating sensitivity: –30/0dBV adjustable; release delay: 0.5-5.0s nom. Supply: single 50mA.

ST-ACR1M Audio Controlled Relay

As ST-ACR1 but mic input. Audio specification: Input impedance: 10k bridging; operating sensitivity: –60/–10dBV adjustable; release delay: 0.5-5.0s nom. Supply: single 50mA.

ST-ACR2 Audio Controlled Relay

As ST-ACR1 but extended release delay (5-50s nom.), suitable as a silence sensor.

ST-LCR1 Logic Controlled Relay

A DPDT relay with LED indicator, operated by applying a control voltage 3.5-35VDC, or a switch or open-collector closure to ground. A slave output is also available for indication or linking. Max switching current: 2A; max switching voltage: 220VDC, 250VAC; max switching power: 60W. Supply: single 50mA.

ST-LCR2 Logic Controlled Relay

As ST-LCR1 but with alternate action from pulsed inputs.

ST-VOX1 Voice Activated Relay

Audio controlled DPDT relay featuring control switching from voice signals of mic or line level. When used in intercom or talkback applications, it may be triggered directly from an unbalanced microphone. It releases very quickly, but holds on through very short pauses in syllables common to speech. These time constants allow the design of a communications system yielding comfortable two-way conversation. Multi-turn presets for sensitivity and release delay. Input impedance: mic 5k unbalanced, line 200k unbalanced. Sensitivity: mic –80dBv to –50dBv, line –45dBv to –15dBv. Activation response 5mSec release relay adjustable 70 to 260mSec. Maximum switching current: 2A; maximum switching power 60W. Supply: single 50mA.

Mounting Accessories

ST series modules are supplied with a self-adhesive foam pad which can be used to attach the module to a clean flat surface. A range of accessories are available for mounting modules. In addition the modules may be fitted in conjunction with RDL Flat-Pak and RDL Rack-Up modules in certain of the housings designed for these. STS-RF1 mounting enclosure is a shielded chassis with detachable terminal block for mounting a single Stick-On module onto a flat surface.

Powering

Apart from passive modules, all Stick-ons require either a single 24-33V DC rail or a dual-rail 12-0-12 to 16-0-16V DC supply. In extreme circumstances it may be possible to operate units requiring dual rail supplies from a single floating DC supply, in which circumstances the +ve rail should be connected to the +ve power terminal and the 0V or ground rail should be connected to the –ve terminal of the power input with no external connection to the 0V power terminal. Modules connected in such a way must not have either input or output connected to ground, and we would not recommend such usage unless the client feels competent to make educated decisions about this configuration.
