CASTLE GROUP SOUND LEVEL METERS - Class 2

SONUS Pocket range

Castle Group Ltd. are one of the leading manufacturers of sound measuring equipment, with a large range of metering equipment for a variety of applications, using advanced microelectronics to provide reliable, straightforward measurement at a realistic price. Each model features a tough blue ABS housing which fully meet the latest European standards, LCD display and straightforward operation. All the meters listed below use a single size PP3 (6LR61), giving >12 hours (assuming alkaline batteries, at continuous operation). For further information on batteries, see Batteries, Testers and Chargers category on our website.

Lower specification Class 2 meters, relevant to the engineer, safety officer or Health and Safety personnel are detailed here. Class 1 devices that serve as more intricate measuring devices for pro-audio engineer use, are available to special order - contact Sales for details. Full technical brochures are available on request.

GA216B Sound level meter, Class 2

Designed to assist Engineers and Industrial Safety Officers in compliance with Health & Safety at Work Act; Noise at Work regulation 1989, this general-purpose, Class 2, pocket-sized sound pressure meter measures sound pressure (Lp) while simultaneously reading peak measurements (Cpeak) and recording maximum Lp hold time (Lmax). 'A' or 'C' frequency weighting and 'slow' or 'fast' response time are both switchable features while it also records elapsed run time. Type 2 microphone included.
Fully compliant with IEC 61672-1:2002 (Integrating, Sound Exposure and Sound Level Meters).

GA216I Integrating sound level meter, Class 2

Designed for Industrial Safety Officers and Safety Managers for compliance with Health & Safety at Work Act; Noise at Work regulation 1989, this Class 2 pocket sized meter is ideal for providing all the necessary information required to complete Noise at Work risk assessments. Measures integrated equivalent level (Leq), personal sound exposure level (LEP,d) and offers simultaneous measurement of sound pressure (Lp), maximum Lp hold time (Lmax) and peak measurements (Cpeak). Single event sound exposure level (LAE) can be recorded,'A' or 'C' frequency weighting and 'slow' or 'fast' response time are both switchable features while it also records elapsed run time. Type 7052 microphone included.
Fully compliant with IEC 61672-1:2002 (Integrating, Sound Exposure and Sound Level Meters), IEC 60651:1979+A1+A2 (Sound Level Meters) and IEC 60804:2000 (Integrating Function).

GA257B Personal noise exposure meter (dosemeter)

Dosemeters are often the only way to monitor exposure to employees who work in different environments, such as studio engineers, PA crews, riggers, manufacturing, printing, reporters and maintenance to name just a few. This inexpensive dosemeter is designed to be worn by the employee for a full or part-time shift, it has an 'unbreakable' pocket clip and a lockable keypad to avoid tampering and also meets the requirements of providing all the necessary information required to complete Noise at Work risk assessments. Measuring a range of parameters including simultaneous personal sound exposure (LEP,d) and maximum peak (Zpeak), projected LEP,d (8 hour sound exposure), DOSE%, Projected DOSE% (8 hours), Pa²hr (LEP,d expressed in Pascals) and switchable 'A' frequency weighting. Type 2 microphone included.
Fully compliant with IEC 61252-1:1993 (Personal Sound Exposure Meters).

GA601 Single level calibrator (IEC942 Class 2)

Discontinued

The GA601 is recommended for use with any of the above meters and produces a single level of 94dB at 1kHz. It has a half inch (27.25mm) cavity.
