TELEX RTS TW INTERCOM SYSTEM - Accessories

PH-88R Lightweight Single-Sided Headset

The PH-88 headset is a super-lightweight, single-sided headset which has been designed to be worn for extended periods.

High-quality ear speaker; impedance: 300 ohms. Dynamic, noise-cancelling microphone on adjustable boom; microphone impedance: 200 ohms. Weight: 0.13kg. Available with 4-pin male XLR connectors, for use with RTS Telex TW Intercoms (PH-88R).

PH-44R Lightweight Dual-Sided Headset

The PH-44 headset is a super-lightweight, dual-sided headset which has been designed to be worn for extended periods. Two high-quality ear speakers; impedance: 300 ohms. Dynamic, noise-cancelling microphone on adjustable boom; impedance: 200 ohms. Weight: 0.15kg. Available with 4-pin male XLR connectors, for use with RTS Telex TW Intercoms (PH-44R).

MCS325 Modular Passive Speaker

The MCS325 may be combined with the MCE325 or MRT327 to provide speaker-station operation. All speaker driver and control circuitry is contained in the MCE325 and MRT327. It may be used free-standing, or rack-mounted. Alternatively it may be fitted in a console.

Features
  • Passive modular speaker
  • Nominal impedance 8 ohms
  • Single speaker jack on rear panel
  • Stray magnetic field: less than 1 gauss at a distance of 1cm from chassis
  • Packaged in a half-rack, 1U metal housing, for durability
Dimensions: 208(w) x 203(d) x 44(h)mm
Weight: 1.2 kg

MCP90-12 microphone

The MCP-90 series microphones are phantom powered “back electret” miniature condenser gooseneck microphones which provide a wide frequency response together with immunity to handling-noise. Designed for use with suitable RTS stations.

Features
  • Cardioid polar pattern
  • Tailored response for close-up use
  • Removable windscreen
  • Non-reflecting black finish
  • Threaded jack for connection to suitable RTS panels
  • Phantom powered from a wide range of voltages (1.5V to 9V DC)

The most popular length of gooseneck is 300 mm (12 inch). Other lengths are available to special order.

SAP612 Source Assign Panel

The SAP612 provides a convenient means of assigning any of six intercom channels, or four intercom channels and two program audio channels, to twelve separate intercom user stations - or strings of stations. Viewed as a “matrix switch”, it transforms a basic two-bus intercom system into a six-bus system. All user stations assigned to a common bus can communicate and exchange call signals with each other.

Features
  • Quick and simple to operate
  • Inputs: six full duplex lines (“busses”)
  • Transformer isolated inputs for two balanced programme sources via 3-pole jack connectors - Programme input 1 assigned to bus 5
  • Programme input 2 assigned to buss 6
  • Outputs: each of the twelve connectors accommodates a pair of TW channels
  • TW Channels are individually assigned to “busses” by sliders on the front panel
  • Switchable 200 ohm line terminations for when no TW power source is fitted.
  • SAP612 Distributes DC power but uses no power itself
  • 1U Rack-mount format
Technical Note

RTS TW user-stations (unless self-powered) draw power from channel 1 (pin 2 of XLR) unless re-configured internally. This is referred to as a “wet” channel because it carries the 32V DC supply current in addition to channel 1 audio. Channel 2 is a “dry” channel because it carries audio only. This will have an effect on channel assignment because channel 1 must be assigned to a “bus” carrying 32V DC.

Three XLR inputs pass power to busses 1, 3 and 5. Busses 2,4 and 6 carry no DC voltage. If one power supply is connected, 32V DC will be available on one buss only, forcing all user stations that need power to allocate their channel 1 to that buss, thereby decreasing the flexibility of the system considerably.

If separate power supplies are connected to each of the three power inputs, user stations will have a choice of busses 1,3 and 5 to which they can assign their channel 1.

Dimensions: 484(w) x 204(d) x 44(h)mm

MCP1 Rack-mount Kt

For two RTS TW modular style components (e.g. MCE325 and PS20)

MCP2 Rack-mount Kit

For single RTS TW modular style component (e.g. MCE325)

MCP3 Console Mount Kit

For single RTS TW modular style component (e.g. MCE325)

MCP4 Tandem Mount Kit

For mounting one RTS TW modular style component above another (e.g. MCE325 and PS20)

TW5W Passive Splitter

A passive splitter with one female 3-pin XLR input and five male 3-pin XLR ouputs for splitting RTS TW lines. It offers an alternative method of interconnecting several user stations instead of looping from one to another. It’s rugged metal housing will protect it against harsh treatment.

XLR4M-XLR4M 4-pin gender adapter

XLR4M to XLR4M, approx. 50mm cable between connectors.
