In response to the increasing demand for 4K infrastructure products, Canford have developed this exclusive range of video patch panels which are intended for 12G 4K ultra high definition (2160P60), 3G and 1.5G high definition, standard definition and analogue video applications. The performance exceeds the requirements of SMPTE ST 2082-1 making them suitable for composite and component video, 270 Mb/s SDI, uncompressed 1080i or 1080p HD-SDI video and 4K UHD (2160P60) video up to 12GHz.
These video jackfields incorporate the new microMUSA panel connector, manufactured for Canford by Coax Connectors, which not only perform beyond the required 4K standard but also offer the highest possible density with a maximum of 2 rows of 48 connectors in a 1U panel. Additionally, all connectors incorporate a unique positive location feature (“detent”) that indicates when the U-link or patchchord is fully mated into the panel, whilst additionally providing resistance to disconnection through vibration as found in some environments such as OB vehicles. Though designed and made to the same very high standards as our industry standard 3G MUSA connectors, this range is not compatible with the existing Canford 3G MUSA range.
Like the original 3G MUSA system, the microMUSA is a non-normalised system and therefore U-links or patchcords are required to make the circuit. Rear connection is via staggered standard BNC socket on the 24 and 32 way variants and Micro BNC sockets on the 48 way versions. Connector configuration is two rows in 1U. The body parts are nickel-plated and centre contacts are gold plated giving a smooth mating action
Panels are manufactured from a rigid aluminium extrusion and are fitted with two lacing-bars and two 5mm, 444mm length, snap-on designation strips (type 1).
Templates for printing designation strip labels, available as a DWG file for AutoCAD and compatible applications, can be downloaded from the appropriate product page on the Canford website. Depth behind panel, including lacing-bar, 180mm.
Finished in Dawn Grey (BS4800-10A03), Dark Grey or Black as standard; other colours are available to special order but may be subject to a minimum order quantity.
