PSC BELL AND LIGHT SYSTEM

Designed and manufactured in the USA, this bell and light system and range of accessories is aimed toward film, TV, and other application whereby audible and visual warnings are required to signify cameras going live.

FBL2PS – Power Supply

PSC FBL2PS power supply is the main hub of the operating system and can provide power to up to 80 FBL2S bell and light stations. Four modes are available on the power supply, all accessed via two switches located on the front facing panel. Wired Manual – all operations are controlled manually; Wired Automatic – uses self-generated bell start and stop pulses; Wireless Automatic – when using the optional FBL2RFRC wireless controller; and Recorder Driven Wired Fully Automatic – when the system is controlled automatically over Cat5 with the optional SD 970 interface box.

Bell and light controller buttons are located on the front facing panel for local operation. Six station outputs, a single Cat5e RJ45 connection, remote, and link connections are also positioned on this front facing panel.

Input power: 90-264VAC, 47-63Hz. Output power: 13.8Vdc nominal. Dimensions (W x L x H): 172.5 x 132 x 83mm. Weight: 1kg.

FBL2S – Bell and Light

A dual-colour light and bell that offers 360-degree visibility and can be linked the to the FBL2PS power supply via 4-pin XLR cable. Switching on the I/O connector panel allows the user to turn the bell on or off, whilst a second switch allows the user to change the flash rate (when lit red) to slow, medium, or fast. The bell, light, and switching interface are protected by a roll cage.

Multiple FBL2S can be linked in daisy-chain wiring by using the 4-pin XLR thru output. Up to ten stations can be linked with a maximum length of up to 300m. The bell and light station can be mounted using one of the three threads available – 1/4-inch-20, 3/8-inch-16, or 5/8-inch-27.

Dimensions (Diam x H): 133 x 114mm. Weight: 0.8kg.

FBL2C – Controller

A two-button controller that can be linked to the power supply via standard 3-pin XLR – XLR cable. The 6061-T6 aircraft aluminium manufactured wired remote has buttons to activate light on/off and bell on/off. The rear pacing panel has a removable belt clip which adds convenience to the user. This clip can be moved between three positions for ergonomic use for right or left-handed users.

Dimensions (W x L x H): 83 x 35 x 44mm. Weight: 140g

FBL2RFRC – RF Remote Control

This RF remote option allows the user to have wireless control of the bell and light system. Two buttons simply marked ‘Cut’ in green, and ‘Roll’ in red, are in reference to the status of the filming on set.

Remote, RF expansion board, and antenna are included with FBL2RFRC. The RF expansion board replaces the blanking plate of the FBL2PS. Once fitted, the RF controller ‘offers up to a one-mile operational range’ using Lynx TM Technology and 80-bit encryption.

The plastic RF transmitter is powered via a single CR2032 battery cell, which PSC suggest ‘should last
for several years with intermittent use’.

Transmission frequency: 433MHz. Dimensions (H x W x D): 70 x 40 x 16mm, transmitter; 56 x 83 x 28mm, receiver module. Weight: 37g, transmitter; 42.5g, receiver module.
