SHURE MICROPHONES - Headworn

A range of headworn microphone series' from Shure that may be used wired or with a Shure radiomic wireless body-pack, depending on model.

PG Series

PGA31-TQG

Shure PGA31 is a cardioid, condenser headset microphone that is designed to offer a clear audio response 'at an affordable price'. The permanently-charged electret condenser element, flexible gooseneck, tailored frequency response, and TA4F termination make it a great addition to a bodypack wireless system for live use. A wireframe enables a secure fit, whilst the flexible gooseneck design and discrete adjustment options optimize microphone positioning.

Shure suggest PGA31 is best used for general, speaking and performance.

Included accessories: Windscreen.

Frequency response: 60-20,000Hz. Polar pattern: Unidirectional, cardioid. Output impedance: 600ohms. Audio output level: -50dBV/Pa. Signal to noise ratio: 66dB. Weight: 45g

SM Series

SM10A

Discontinued

This is a low-impedance, unidirectional dynamic microphone designed for 'close-talk head-worn applications such as remote-site sports broadcasting and corporate intercom systems'. It is also 'ideal for singing drummers, keyboard artists, and other performers who need a head-worn vocal microphone with superior noise rejection and a smooth, natural-sounding frequency response'.

SM31FH-TQG

Designed for fitness, aerobic and other uses in humid environments, the SM31FH-TQG is a lightweight headset microphone with 'moisture-repelling' hydrophobic properties. The cardioid condenser microphone capsule is positioned at the end of a flexible gooseneck on the left side of the headset. Terminated with TA4F (4-pin mini XLR) connector it requires 5V DC nominal, 10V maximum, phantom power.

SM35-XLR, SM35-TQG

The SM35-XLR headset microphone has been designed to offer 'hands-free performance for multi-instrumentalists'. The 'tight' cardioid condenser capsule gives a high level of feedback rejection and is popular among users who use stage monitors. A 'tailored' frequency response of 40Hz - 20kHz and a sensitivity of -59dBV/Pa - 1.10mV/Pa results in a 'clear, and crisp vocal reproduction'. It is terminated with a 3-pin male XLR connector. The SM35-TQG has the same audio properties but is fitted with a miniature, 4-pin, female connector (TA4F) for direct connection to Shure wireless bodypack transmitters.

WH Series

WH20-XLR, WH20-TQG

The WH20-XLR is a 'rugged, lightweight, dynamic headset microphone that provides high-quality voice pickup'. It fits securely for active microphone users, such as aerobics instructors and musicians, with low visibility for stage appearances. Suitable for 'any voice communications application where comfort and reliability are required', it has a cardioid (unidirectional) pickup pattern and a 'carefully shaped frequency response includes a voice-frequency presence peak and a low-frequency rolloff'. It has a 3-pin male XLR connector with a detachable belt clip. The WH20-TQG is similar, fitted with a miniature, 4-pin, female connector for direct connection to Shure wireless bodypack transmitters.

BETA Series

BETA53

Discontinued

A 'fully adjustable omnidirectional condenser headworn vocal microphone, designed for applications where unconspicuous appearance and incredible sound quality are required'. The WBH53 is the same microphone, fitted with a connector to suit a Shure wireless bodypack transmitter.

BETA54

Discontinued

A 'subminiature, electret condenser headworn microphone', this provides 'uncompromised sound quality and reliability with minimal visibility in applications such as broadcast, theater, and touring'. The microphone has a 'durable, low-profile wire frame headband which is fully adjustable for stability and comfort'. The WBH54 is the version with a connector suitable for a Shure wireless bodypack transmitter.

WCM Series

WCM16

A headworn, electret condenser microphone, intended for wireless use by performers, lecturers, and others. The cable terminates with a 4-pin mini connector suitable for Shure wireless bodypack transmitters.

WBH Series

WBH53B, WBH53T

These types are omnidirectional condenser microphones, 'designed for applications where unconspicuous appearance and incredible sound quality are required'. The WBH53B is black, and has a 1.5m cable with 4-pin mini connector (TA4F) suitable for a Shure wireless bodypack transmitter. The WBH53T is tan coloured, but otherwise the same. The BETA53 is the version for use with a cable rather than a transmitter pack.

WBH54B, WBH54T

Condenser microphones with a supercardioid polar pattern. The WBH54B is black, and has a 1.5m cable with 4-pin mini connector (TA4F) suitable for a Shure wireless bodypack transmitter. The WBH54T is tan coloured, but otherwise the same.

TwinPlex Series

Shure TwinPlex omnidirectional headworn microphones have been designed for use in the theatre, broadcast TV, Film and AV sectors. These condenser microphones use the same element as TwinPlex miniature microphones, see SHURE MICROPHONES - Miniature however they are combined with an ‘ultra-light’ adjustable headset frame.

TwinPlex TH53 headset microphones are available in a variety of colours and with various terminations including LEMO, TA4F, MicroDot, or bare wire (unterminated). Users can replace most parts of the headset individually, including replacement boom, headset frame, earhook sleeves, cable flex etc. Please contact our Sales team for more information.

TH53

Requiring 5VDC phantom power, this dual-diaphragm condenser microphone has a low sensitivity of -45dBv (5.62mV), along with a high maximum SPL of 142dB and a dynamic range of 117.5dB. The dual-diaphragm design increases the surface area, which in turn gives ‘robust low frequency response’, gives a natural response for voice pickup, and offers low self-noise of 24.5dB equivalent.

The pre-polarised condenser capsule is housed in a moulded ABS housing giving a diameter of 5.6mm and length of 13.5mm. The 1.6m (length), 1.1mm (diameter) cable has a single, medical-grade, spiralling conductor which aids flexibility and durability. The cable is paintable and is also ‘immune to memory effects and kinks’. The included and interchangeable frequency caps are moisture and sweat-resistant thanks to their ‘superhydrophobic nanoscopic’ coating.

Frequency response: 20Hz – 20kHz. Sensitivity: -45 dBV, 1kHz. Signal to noise: 69.5dB. Output clipping level: 3dBV, 1kHz, 1% THD typical. Self noise: 24.5dB SPL-A. Maximum SPL: 142dB SPL, 1kHz at 1% THD typical. Dynamic range: 117.5dB. Current draw: 120 - 240 microamps, typical. Bias voltage: 5 VDC. Weight: 12g, boom arm with cable; 6g, headset frame.

DuraPlex Series

DuraPlex series of headworn microphones have been designed for use within broadcast, stage, theatre, or any environment where a neutral, clear sound is required. Versions are terminated with LEMO or TA4F connector and are available in black, cocoa, or tan along with a host of matching accessories and spares.

DH5

With IP57 dust and waterproof rating, DH5 gives protection against sweat, moisture, and dirt, giving the microphone a longer expected lifespan. The 5mm omnidirectional capsule is positioned at the end of a repositionable boom arm, and provides a frequency response of 20Hz to 20kHz. The microphone is provided with a presence cap that, when fitted tailors the frequency response for speech application by reducing frequencies higher than 10kHz and increasing frequencies between 4kHz and 10kHz by around 3dB. The 1.6mm Shure Plex cable, which offers 'virtually zero memory effect', doesn't kink, and is fully paintable, has a dual redundant ground which also doubles as a secondary shield.

Included accessories: Single tie clip, presence cap, snap-fit windscreen, foam windscreen, sticky mount, case.

Frequency response: 20Hz - 20kHz. Sensitivity: -42.5dBV, 1kHz. Signal to noise: 63dB. Maximum SPL: 132dB, 1kHz. Dynamic range: 101dB, typical. Cable diameter: 1.6mm. Cable length: 1.67m. Weight: 20g.
