This range of microphones by Zoom have been designed to plug directly into an iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch via a Lightning connector and offer premium audio capture without the need to carry additional recording equipment.
Zoom’s Handy Recorder app is available for free from the iTunes App store and offers signal processing inserts such as EQ, reverb, and compression whilst giving a transport section for recording/playback start and visual overview of the audio that is being recorded.

AM7 - Mid-side condenser
Compatible with Android devices via a USB-C connection, AM7 offers users the ability to record high quality audio directly into their Android smart device. With a mid-side stereo configuration, the user can use the microphone in 'audio' position, for instances where you are pointing the microphone towards the source you are recording; and 'video' position, for instances where the device is being used to capture video at the same time.
A stereo 3.5mm jack socket allows the user to connect headphones for monitoring, whilst a three-section LED tree allows the user to visually monitor input signals - lighting red when that signal is higher than -0.25dB. A stereo width switch allows the user to preset a stereo pickup of 90-degrees, 120-degrees, or 'M-S' which allows the user to adjust the stereo width in post using the Handy Recorder App. Finally, an input gain control allows adjustment from +3dB to +43dB.

iQ6 - X/Y condenser
This microphone is an X/Y configuration of condenser capsules, otherwise seen on the Zoom H4n Handy recorder. The angle of each microphone is adjustable from 90 degrees to 120 degrees to capture focused or immersive audio. A large rotary controller allows the user to adjust the microphone gain on input, whilst a three-stage LED bar allows the user to visually ensure the input level is not overloading or inaudible.
A 3.5mm headphone output jack connector enables the user to monitor the audio input but also can be used as a line output for playback or during recording.
A removable spacer allows the user to connect the microphone to the iPhone/iPod Touch/iPad when using certain device cases.

iQ7 - Mid-side condenser
This microphone offer much of the functionality of the iQ6, however the microphone enables Mid-side, 90 degree stereo, or 120 degree stereo recording. A three-position switch on the microphone allows the user to switch between the three methods of audio capture.
