This specialised electret-based microphone is designed for fixed installations where unobtrusive pick-up of sound, from a wide range of angles, is required. Originally developed for interview recording in security and personnel applications, the Flush Mount Microphone can also find uses in paging systems where a projecting gooseneck microphone is not appropriate.
The microphone mounts on a standard single-gang, UK (BS1363) mounting box, such as part 49-578. The black-anodised plate has four small holes for sound transmission. The rear-mounted screw terminals make for easy electrical connections on site. The output is balanced. Versions are available to operate on all three standard phantom power supply voltages (P48, P24 or P12).
