GLENSOUND POWER AMPLIFIERS - Dante

Glensound Comedia is a network audio amplifier powered over Ethernet (PoE 12.95W), and features a ‘low noise, high output’ class D power amplifier. The rugged and lightweight aluminium enclosure has fixing holes to allow for wall or ceiling mounting.

Control of setup and day to day operation of the Comedia is available via the Windows 10 application GlenController. This includes the ability to group together multiple Comedia units and control their level simultaneously.

Comedia is available in three versions, each with a different level of localised control.

Comedia R

R version stands for remote. This unit would normally be integrated by the user when no access to the unit is required, such as when it is in a ceiling space when used with ceiling speakers. There are no controls on the unit itself and all functions must be controlled via the Windows based GlenController software.

Comedia V

V version stands for volume control. Comedia V is used when a user would need to adjust volume level and possibly the input source, for example when it is mounted in a wall to control directly the speaker in the room. A push button selects between inputs 1-4 or the mixes of 1-2, 3-4 or 1-4. A volume control adjusts level. All other functions must be changed via the Windows based GlenController remote control.

Comedia VS

VS version stands for volume control and screen. Comedia VS is used when full access to all the controls is required. This means that all of the 15+ configurable functions of the Comedia can be configured directly on the unit itself via the screen. The screen is used to access and change functions. A push button selects between inputs 1-4 or the mixes of 1-2, 3-4, or 1-4. A volume control adjusts level. All controls have security functions and can be disabled in the GlenController remote control.

Glensound Comedia can receive up to four AES67 compliant Dante audio over IP inputs. These inputs can be selected individually or mixed and their individual levels adjusted. A priority system is provided to allow one or more of the inputs to automatically duck another. This can be very useful if you want to monitor one source but also listen to another when audio is present, such as sending show relay to dressing rooms in a theatre but having the stage managers call and building fire alarm take precedence when they’re active.

Internally a digital signal processor takes particular care of the audio signals, including compression and limiting circuits. Different preset EQs and an LF cut can all be set in the user menu to allow the Comedia to be used for a variety of applications. In total there are over fifteen configurable settings on the Comedia.

The 10watt, 8ohm speaker output is presented on phoenix style connectors. A separate line level output is also available via phoenix style connectors.

Included accessories: 2m RJ45 to RJ45 cable.
