This is a low-loss version, with a diameter of 11.9mm, of the industry-standard triax 11 camera cable, optimised for 3G HD-SDI broadcast cameras. The tight-tolerance construction offers an impedance of 75 ohms +/-1%, achieving transmission distances more than 30% longer than conventional 11.2mm triax. The cable is 35% lighter and significantly more flexible than a 14mm triax equivalent. Developed with Fischer, it is matched to the Triax HD pro+ version of their 1051 series connectors, offering compatibility with existing triax systems.
Transmission distances have been measured up to 1700 metres, typically 1500 metres, depending on camera and CCU, using the combined triax HD pro+ system. Draka's proprietary flexible, flame-retardant DMC (special polyurethane) jacket complies with IEC 60332-1; IEC 60754-2; IEC 61034; LSOH, making it suitable for building installation while remaining flexible enough for use on studio floors and on location.

Note that LEMO 4M series 50ohm connectors (BBC standard) are not suitable for this 75ohm cable. LEMO 75 ohm 3T series (See Lemo Triax Connectors - 3T Series) and 75ohm 4E series are suitable and available, but they must be mated to matching 4E or 3T series infrastructure cabling.
