Enables an additional signal to be transmitted down the two unused pairs of Category 5 twisted-pair cable. This allows expansion of an existing system without the need to disrupt the cable infrastructure.
Although sold individually, the units must be used in pairs, with a device at either end of the cabling. Priced and sold singly.
Technical note:
This device will not be helpful if the cable is used for gigabit ethernet: There are no unused pairs in such a scenario. The user may also wish to consider the effect of analogue telephone ringing-pulses on any ethernet signals in adjacent pairs.
