SKB CASES - Defender - Aluminium Cases

This series of SKB Defender aluminium boxes have been designed for industrial, military, or broadcast use whereby extreme conditions are experienced. Manufactured from lightweight aluminium the cases are immune to extreme cold or hot temperatures as well as being rustproof and anti-magnetic.

Defender KA44

As the entry point into SKB Defender aluminium cases, this range uses 0.8mm thick aluminium to retain a lighter weight and employs reinforcement ribbing around the case for additional strength. The hinges are riveted and strapping protects the lid from falling backwards when open. Variants, with the exception of DEF-KA44-016 have two handles, each with a loading capacity of 50kg, for easy transportation. Toggle locks enable to user to close, secure, and lock the lid in the closed position. The base, lid, and mantle sheet overlapping is by way of point welding.

Defender KA64

SKB Defender KA64 series have many of the same features as the KA44 series however they are manufactured from 1mm thick aluminium for added strength. In addition to the reinforced lid, the cases have solid cast aluminium corner castings to enable stacking. A rubber sealing gasket is applied to the rim of the base to aid protection against dust and water. The mantle sheet overlapping is by way of pop rivets.

Defender KA74

These aluminium cases share many of the properties of the Defender KA64 series, however they assembled with solid aluminium rivets for additional strength, and use continuous piano style stainless steel hinges for durability.
