These Tascam digital audio recorders are intended for interview, ENG, music performance and location sound recording, and can be mounted directly to a DSLR type camera.
Tascam DR-60DMKII is a compact 4-track audio recorder for dedicated use with a digital single-lens reflex (DSLR) or digital single-lens mirrorless (DSLM) camera as a video system. It can be mounted directly to the camera and offers various audio inputs and outputs to allow the recording of high-resolution audio material in parallel to, but separated from the camera and its video data.
The recorder features Tascam original HDDA microphone preamps with high S/N ratio, low input-referred noise and low distortion. Recordings can be made at 44.1/48/96 kHz, 16/24-bit in WAV or BWF format. In addition to ordinary stereo recording, it is possible to record up to four channels simultaneously which can then be mixed down to a stereo signal. Recording levels can be adjusted independently for inputs 1, 2 and 3–4 and the dual recording function allows two files to be recorded in parallel at different levels.
DR-60DMKII uses SD/SDHC media as a recording medium, or outputs audio to a DSLR/DSLM camera to be recorded there as a reference track, and a camera input enables convenient monitoring of audio sent from a DSLR camera. Mid-side decoding, slate tone functions (automatic/manual), selectable time delay and other functions for convenient recording are also available. The device is powered using 4x AA battery cells, or via the optional PS-P520U AC power adapter - with the power source automatically switching from external to internal when required. A pop-up message on the 128 x 64px display signifies this to the user.
Other features include, playback equalizers, self-timer, auto-record start/stop, selectable low cut filter at 40/80/12Hz, and mark function for location moves.

DR-70D is a compact audio recorder that allows the aspiring DSLR user to create audio recordings in very high quality in parallel to their film or video shots. The recorder can be mounted directly between a tripod and the camera or on top of the camera, resulting in a compact package.
With two built-in microphones, DR-70D is instantly ready for use in standard situations. In addition, it provides four XLR/TRS combo jacks which can be used to record four channels of audio with excellent sound quality using professional microphones. Thanks to a camera output the recorder’s stereo signal can be recorded also on the camera to ease subsequent editing of the material in combination with the slate tone function of the recorder. The camera input can also be used to monitor the audio of the camera using the recorder.
Other features of include overload-resistant, great-sounding preamps with switchable low-cut filter and limiter, handling of microphone signals in mid/side format, 24- or 48-volts phantom power for condenser mics, as well as many common and not so common functions that facilitate capturing, monitoring and subsequent processing of the audio tracks.
