All those who have regularly used microphone stands will have suffered trapped fingers, bruised toes, torn clothing and the consequential damage to mic stand paintwork and attached mic-clips, when, for no adequately explained reason, a folded stand, or worse, several stands, have suddenly decided to escape the grip of the unfortunate bearer, whilst simultaneously unfolding, extending, and generally flinging themselves about in mid air! These problems can be alleviated by encasing the stands in a padded mic stand trunk, but whilst fine for a rock tour where the crew can make short work of the weight, such cases are not appropriate for the single sound man with only a few stands.
The Canford mic-stand bag was derived from these experiences, and is designed to protect the user, as much as the stands. With a bag over each shoulder, eight stands can be transported from the car boot to the venue with minimum effort.
Constructed from heavily padded nylon, the bag takes four fully collapsed K&M 21020 or other similarly sized boom stands, with fabric protection to prevent scratching. The bag unzips for easy loading, and individual pockets hold the stands in position. The bag has both carrying handles and shoulder straps.
