This range of Radial signal boosters have been designed to aid the connection of unbalanced, low output devices to professional recording or live equipment for optimal source level.
J+4 Instrument/line input
Radial J+4 is an active, compact stereo interface designed to accept low-output unbalanced devices such as musical instruments, computers or CD players and boost the signal to a balanced +4dB level for easy manipulation in professional environments such as broadcast, recording studios and live touring. It features dual 6.35mm, RCA and stereo 3.5mm inputs with 3-pin XLR outputs.
A front panel level control lets you increase the gain up to +17dB whilst both outputs are transformer isolated. A high pass filter on/off switch reduces lower frequencies below 100Hz, and a ground lift switch disconnects pin-1 at the XLR output stage to reduce hum. J+4 is powered via the included 15VDC, 400mA supply.
Frequency response: 20Hz - 20kHz. Dynamic range: 102dB. Total harmonic distortion: 0.004%, 1kHz, +10dBu output. Phase deviation: 0.5 degrees, 100Hz; 4 degrees, 20Hz. Input impedance: 10k ohms, unbalanced. Output impedance: 1.6k ohms, balanced. Maximum input: +17dBu, 1kHz. Maximum output: +15dBu, 1kHz. Dimensions (LxWxD): 84 x 127 x 48mm. Weight: 0.7kg
MCBOOST Microphone input
Radial McBoost is a microphone signal booster designed to elevate the output of a typical dynamic microphone for greater transient response and boost the signal of a low output ribbon mic to bring it up to a usable level for mixing consoles, preamps and workstations that may not provide sufficient gain. It features a class-A dual-transistor J-FET circuit that can produce up to 26dB of gain without introducing noise, colour or artefacts.
A book-end designed cover creates protective zones at each end to safeguard the switches, potentiometer and connectors from the rigours of the road.. Three impedance settings optimize the response, and a 3-position high-pass filter reduces low-frequency resonance. Powered using standard 48-Volt phantom power, the user is able to connect the McBoost using standard 3-pin XLR cable.
Frequency response: Less than 7Hz - greater than 20kHz. Dynamic range: 116dB. Total harmonic distortion: 0.006%. Phase deviation: Less than 10 degrees. Input impedance: 600ohms/2.7kohms/30kohsm. Output impedance: 220ohms. Dimensions (LxWxD): 70 x 108 x 44mm.
