VOICE TECHNOLOGIES MICROPHONES - Miniature

Voice Technologies is a manufacturer of high-end miniature lavalier microphones, headworn microphones and earphones for broadcast, theatre, film, video and conference applications. Established in 1998 in Zurich, Switzerland, the company continues the long tradition of Swiss precision engineering and moulding, resulting in exceptional performance and reliability in their range of miniature and ultra-miniature devices.

The miniature lavalier and headworn electret capsule microphones can be adapted to plug into the transmitter of virtually any brand of wireless system or hard-wired system. Supply and fitting of connectors can be ordered using the codes listed.

A wide range of accessories and replacement consumable parts is available. An innovative approach by Voice Technologies is to offer each microphone with a choice of options - with a full kit of accessories in a transparent waterproof case (the ‘VTO Case’), or with a more basic set of accessories in a metal box or with no case, or a microphone only. This enables established users or those on restricted budgets to purchase less accessory options if desired.

VT100 Series


VT100 - Cardioid

The VT100 is designed for clear, accurate voice reproduction for vocalists, lecturers, stage and television talent. The low-profile design is ideal for applications requiring minimum visibility and is easily hidden in clothing or hair. The microphone capsule unit is detachable from the mounting base.

Polar pattern: Cardioid. Frequency response: 100-15000Hz. Sensitivity: -44dB +/-3dB. Max input SPL: 130dB. Impedance: 1600 ohms. Dimensions (length x diameter): 21 x 5.3mm.

Included accessories: It is supplied either in the waterproof VTO case with mounting clip (360 degree rotatable) and windscreen, or without case and accessories.


VT106HOF - Hypercardioid

This cardioid miniature microphone has been designed and developed in cooperation with the Theatre Hof for use in theatre and musicals where a ‘clear and open’ audio pickup and resistance to high levels of perspiration are required. A specifically designed ‘rubber face mound’ RBM body mount (74-4927) allows attachment directly to the performer’s face.

VT400 Series


VT401 - Omnidirectional

VT401 is a very small electret condenser microphone and extremely lightweight. Fitted with a miniature microphone capsule, it looks attractive, totally unobtrusive and is in most cases almost unnoticeable. It is excellent for stage presentations, theatre and broadcast studio operations. It is supplied in the waterproof VTO case with clip, windscreen with acoustic tube, tie-tack clip, clothing pin mount (also known as ‘Dracula’ mount as it has two parallel pins) and rubber body mount.

Polar pattern: Omnidirectional. Frequency response: 20Hz-20kHz. Max input SPL: 125dB. Impedance: 4500 ohms nominal. Dimensions (length x diameter): 8 x 3.2mm. Cable length: 1.5 metres.

VT403 - Omnidirectional

VT403 is described by Voice Technologies as 'ultra-miniature' and has been designed with high-SPL RF protection for use with wireless bodypack transmitter. The subminiature capsule gives a sound that is 'excellent' for vocalists and stage performers, with 'very low' inherent noise - making positioning in the hairline, on the face, or near clothing can be achieved.

VT403 is available in black, white, and beige, with or without VTO case and accessories.

VT403WATER - Omnidirectional, IPX7 rated

VT403WATERis an IPX-7 certified, waterproof lavalier microphone which has been designed for vocal application in musicals, theatre, film, and broadcast. The IPX-7 rating translates to operation for up to 30 minutes up to 1m underwater – making it a good choice for sporting events. This compact lapel mic ‘offers excellent voice recording’ at high sound pressure levels of up to 136dB. Available in both black or beige, with or without accessories and VTO case.

VT500 Series


VT500 - Omnidirectional

Sometimes known by its nickname ‘The Streetcar’ (although not invented by Benjamin Outram!), the VT500 has an extremely smooth omnidirectional pattern control over a wide frequency range. It is designed for performing talent in broadcast, theatre, film, public address and sound reinforcement and other similar applications. Speech clarity is enhanced by a slight frequency emphasis giving excellent voice reproduction while eliminating placement constraints. Due to the unique design of the VT500, noise transmission from handling and clothing movement is kept at a minimum. An integral filter provides efficient RF suppression. The cable is smooth, rugged, sweat proof and has excellent isolation from rubbing noise. VT500 has a maximum sensitivity of -59dB.

VT500ECO - Omnidirectional, economy version

This lavalier microphone has been designed for use in broadcast, theatre and film. VT500ECO is encased in a injection moulded outer that is both 'rugged and shockproof'. The microphone capsule is also RF protected whilst a slightly emphasised frequency response allows for better voice reproduction. VT500ECO is packaged with an alligator clip and windscreen and can be transported using the included transparent plastic box.

VT500WATER - Omnidirectional, IPX7 rated

VT500Water is manufactured with a special injection moulding treatment to allow it to be completely, temporarily submerged in water (including sea-water) without damage. This makes it particularly suitable for live broadcast and production, as well as sports events, where the user may be drenched or temporarily submerged. Water resistance rating IPX7. Maximum sensitivity of -59dB.

VT500X EXTREME has the similar audio properties as the VT500WATER however it has IPX8 certified rating and can therefore be submerged up to 1m for 24 hours. A reinforced cable to protect against 'sweat, cuts, and tearing', and has therefore been designed for more punishing day-to-day sports, outdoor, or heavy use applications. VT500X eXtreme has a maximum sensitivity of -79dB.

VT506 - Omnidirectional

Designed for theatre, film, live and broadcast VT506 is very similar to the VT500 but has a response curve that is slightly peaked above 8kHz providing brilliance and preserving sibilance to ensure enhanced intelligibility when the microphone is hidden under clothing. It is designed for performing talent in broadcast, theatre, film, public address and sound reinforcement. An integral filter provides highly efficient RF suppression. The cable is smooth, rugged, sweat proof and has excellent isolation from rubbing noise.
