FORMULA SOUND ZMR243 MIXER-ZONER

Intended for fixed installations in bars, clubs and other entertainment venues, this design features two balanced microphone inputs and four stereo line inputs which may be routed and mixed to three stereo outputs. Provision is made for interface to fire-alarm systems, for automatic control of priority switching during an alarm. VCA control of the four music sources is possible, using the optional remote volume control plates.

The rear-mounted microphone connectors are XLR style, balanced, with associated gain, HF and LF cut pre-sets. Internal settings provide 15V phantom power if required. Also on the rear, the “music” inputs are by four pairs of phono connectors, each pair with screwdriver operated gain setting. Each 3-pole, screw-terminal connection output is balanced, or may be linked for unbalanced use, and has adjacent HF and LF EQ, again screwdriver operated. They may each be configured for mono operation if required for split-feed on zones - remote control of volume for each output sharing the same source is also configurable, with one of the zones selecting the source if required, all from the inside of the unit.

Each zone has front panel level controls for Mic 1, Mic 2 and Music level inputs and a single push-button switch, controlling solid state switching of music source select or remote panel selection, each with a status LED per zone. The panel may be quickly and easily frozen, using a sequence of front panel button presses. Line input 1 may be configured internally, to operate as a priority input when it detects an incoming signal, perhaps from a background music source. An LED indicates this function, which does not affect the operation of the microphone channels. Mic 1 and Mic 2 can be selected for remote switching to assist in paging, with a front panel LED indicating this function. A voice override facility is also selectable for any or all outputs, where a microphone can be selected to dim the music signals routed to that ouput for announcement purposes. The fire alarm interface requires an isolated contact closure in order to dim or mute all music sources to all outputs. Technical Support have colour brochures available.
