These 19 inch, rack-mounting, panels are designed to support a wide variety of fibre connectors on the tailboard of outside broadcast vehicles, in studio or stadia wall-boxes, or in 'fly away' racks or flight-cases. Angled versions, manufactured from a unique 'Z' profile aluminium-extrusion, present the connector axis at a 23.5 degree downward angle. This angle relieves strain on the cable connector termination and eases mating during rigging. Designed for Lemo 3K.93C SMPTE Hybrid fibre, Neutrik opticalCON Advanced Duo and Quad, Fibreco mini, Senko 'Universal' mount, Switchcraft EH series LC, SC and ST or any Canford 'Universal connection system' connectors.
Flush or flat versions are also available; these have a horizontal connector mating axis.
Panels are supplied unpopulated as standard, but complete with appropriate connector mounting screws, nuts and shake-proof washers where required. Connector-flange mounting holes in the panel are threaded where appropriate. Connectors or cable assemblies can be supplied or fitted if required.
Manufactured from a heavy-duty, aluminium extrusion, these 2U panels have integral bracing at the rear, achieving an extremely rigid and rugged mounting for all the most common outside broadcast and studio connectors. Many additional connector types or combinations can be accommodated economically. Please contact Sales if you have a special requirement.
Connector mounting is uninsulated, as is common practice. Where appropriate for the cable used with particular connectors, a single cranked lacing-bar is fitted to the rear of the panel. The 65mm deep, low-profile lacing-bar allows for tight cable routing; a 100mm deep lacing bar is also available if specified at the time of order or as a retrofit option (order separately). Panels for connectors with larger diameter cables, which do not require rear support, such as SMPTE fibre, are not fitted with a lacing-bar as standard. Metal blanking plates are available for covering unused cut-outs. Canford XLR blanking plates are suitable for 'D' cut-outs.
A designation-strip holder with snap-on cover is fitted above the connector row. The supplied paper strips may be inserted before or after installation; printable height: 7.5mm. Templates for printing designation strip labels, available as a DWG file for AutoCAD and compatible applications, can be downloaded from the appropriate product page on the Canford website.
Available finished in Dawn Grey (BS4800-10A03) or black. Spare designation-strip paper inserts, (not suitable for printers) and 432mm clear covers are available, see CANFORD DESIGNATION STRIPS - Snap-on.
