A range of single and multicolour, high intensity, LED signal lights, with a special lens to provide 180 degree illumination visibility even in high, ambient light conditions. They have a similar profile to UK standard 1-gang electrical plates, so that installation of flush back boxes can be easily specified to an electrical contractor. Plates are available in white and black. LED colours are red, amber, green, blue or white.
They require a DC voltage of 12 to 24 volts at a current of 150mA at 12 volts (80mA at 24 volts), and can be switched on and off simply by switching on and off the DC supply. If the 'control' pin on the unit is open circuit, then the light runs at maximum brightness. The brightness is reduced by shunting the control pin to 0V with a resistance, and is off if the control pin is shorted to 0V. Connection is by a 3-pin detachable connector (supplied). Fixing screws to suit standard flush and surface boxes are supplied.
Units can be powered directly from a suitable DC supply, but a free-standing mains power supply is available which allows the remote switching and control of one or two independent Canford LED signal lights. It provides two fully independent 20 volt supplies, with 0 volt lines isolated from each other, and offers control using either a closing contact or by applying 5-50 volts DC. Each output has a 300mA current limit, so a short on the output connections will shut down that output. Full control options are shown on the product instructions sheet.
The mains input connector is IEC 60320 C14 type, fuse protected. The two control inputs each use a 3-pin female XLR panel connector. The two output connectors each use a 4 pin XLR female panel connector. Mating connectors are not included, and should be ordered separately as required.

Mating connector stock codes
A screened cable suitable for use for DC power supplies is HST-HD, stock code 30-130. This has low resistance, large (0.5 sq.mm) conductors.
