The CS-C in-ceiling loudspeakers are intended for applications requiring superior acoustic performance such as pubs and clubs, paging systems, board room AV or background music in restaurants and retail environments.
Although they were developed to complement Cloud Electronics' commercial audio hardware, they are equally well suited to other brands of amplification equipment.
The powder-coated steel enclosures can be driven from low impedance or constant voltage amplifiers. Transformers will accept 25V, 70V or 100V line input. A rotary tap-selection switch is located on the front baffle, beneath the magnetic 'ZeroEdge' steel grille. Multiple tap settings are offered along with transformer bypass for direct connection to low-impedance circuits. Input and 'Link Out' are via a 4-pin, detachable, terminal block (Phoenix style), 'Euroblock' connectors countersunk in the rear of the back can and secured beneath a hinged screw-locking cover.
CS-C5, CS-C6, CS-C8 and CS-CSUB8 loudspeakers utilise common grilles and the same diameter back can, which simplifies installation and inventory management. Only one size hole to cut, one size grille, and one size tile bridge is required, irrespective of which model is being installed. This may be particularly useful when mixing and matching different models on a single installation. The CS-C3 has slightly smaller dimensions at 152.4 x 99.55mm (WxH).
Installation into dry-lined or ceiling-tile surface is achieved with four integrated 'blind-mount constant-tension dog ear clips' which clamp to ceiling thicknesses ranging from 3.18mm to 50.8mm. A steel tile bridge (CS-TB) is offered for additional support to the CS-C5, CS-C6, CS-C8 and CS-CSUB8 speakers when working with ceiling tiles. Magnetic grilles are supplied, complete with an anti-drop safety leash which is screw fixed to the loudspeaker baffle. CS-C series back cans include two safety restraint tabs (restraints not included) for use with wire rope or threaded bar rigging hardware.
Optional accessories: CS-3HEXGRILL hexagonal grill and CS-3AQGRILL square grill for CS-C3W and CS-C3B, available in black or white. Cloud CS-TB Tile Bridge for use with CS-C5, CS-C6, CS-C8 and CS-CSUB8 (pack of 4). PC-200W and PC-200B pendant loudspeaker mounts are compatible with CS-C5, CS-C6, CS-C8 and CS-CSUB8 loudspeakers. Please note: PC-200W and PC-200B are mounts only and do not contain loudspeakers as standard.
