SIGNEX JACKFIELDS AND AUDIO CONNECTOR PANELS

A range of 1U rack-mounting patch-panels with visually harmonised design, giving a neat appearance where combinations of the different panels are mounted in close proximity. Whilst each type offers a model for installation by direct soldering, alternative versions offer greater ease of wiring by using standard ready-made cables in conjunction with the various rear-mounted connector options.

All panels are of welded steel construction with a high quality, stove-enamel paint finish. Above each row of sockets, a clear Melinex sleeve is fitted that accepts a white, slide-in ‘ident’ card for socket designation. A pack of ten cards is included with each unit. All units with direct-solder rear termination include cable-ties and feature double PCB anchor points to ensure mechanical isolation of the soldered joints. A lacing-bar kit is available to suit all panels in the range and is recommended in any installation where the rear cables are otherwise unsupported.

Signex products have a five character main part number (e.g. CPJ48) followed by a suffix denoting options as follows:

J Rear 1/4" Jack
JG Rear 1/4" Jack , Gold contacts
T Rear solder
TG Rear solder, Gold contacts
P Rear RCA
PG Rear RCA, Gold contacts
D25 Rear 25 pin D-sub
D25G Rear 25 pin D-sub, Gold contacts
D25P Rear 25 pin D-sub, Palladium contacts
M Rear 5 pin DIN

Isopatch Jackfields

The Isopatch and Isopatch Bantam are of similar design having two rows of front-panel jacks with all sockets mounted on two horizontal PCBs that eliminate internal wiring and add extra rigidity to the panel. Jacks are of a fully enclosed design that helps to keep out the contaminants that shorten contact life. Half or full normalling is available on all vertical pairs by simply bridging ‘program pads’ on the top PCB with solder. This system means that changes to the normalling configuration can be made easily and quickly, even after installation, by simply removing the rack screws and pulling the unit out slightly from the rack. Panels can be used for desk insert points without the need for special splitter leads, by making a few simple modifications to the PCB. Contact material is phosphor-bronze/beryllium-copper with silver plating (standard) or gold (G suffix). The Isopatch Bantam is also available with solid palladium cross-point switch contacts fitted to silver-plated jack contacts (P suffix) for increased performance.

CPJ A-gauge Jackfield

The Isopatch CPJ jackfield has two rows of 24, 6.35mm, A-gauge jacks at the front and is available with A-gauge jack, RCA(phono) or direct-solder rear termination.

CPT Bantam Jackfield

The Isopatch CPT Bantam jackfield has two rows of 48, 4.4 mm, Bantam jacks at the front arranged in stereo-spaced pairs. It is available with standard, gold or palladium switch contacts with a choice of 25-way D-sub or direct-solder termination at the back. The D-sub version is wired to the Tascam DA88 pattern. A rear connector kit is available comprising 12 line connectors and 12 hoods. One kit is required for each Isopatch Bantam jackfield.

PST Bantam Jackfield - Pro series

These have the same construction as the CPT series, but have an anodised metallic blue front panel with paired connector cutouts. They are offered as standard with either palladium (P suffix) or hard silver plated (no suffix) switch contact jacks, with 25-way D-sub termination at the back.

CPM MIDI Panel

The MIDI panel has a single row of 22, 5-pin DIN sockets at the front and is available with a choice of DIN sockets or direct-solder termination at the back. As this panel is intended for MIDI signals, only pins 1, 3 and 5 are wired.

Lacing Bar Kit

Suits all ‘CP’ series panels and provides support for rear termination cabling. The lacing bar can be configured in a variety of ways to suit different combinations of panel and termination types. It is attached to the panel by four small screws that facilitate easy handling of the assembly during wiring and installation. After installation, the bracket bears the load as it is held between the panel and the rack. Can be also used with most other 1U panels, but without the ability to secure it to the panel with the four screws.
