The S4.04 UHF range may be switched between four frequency channels, and may be used license-free in the UK on channel 70. Systems are available with belt-pack or handheld transmitters. Beltpacks can be switched for use with a microphone or musical instrument, and are available with lapel or aerobics headband microphone. Handheld transmitters have dynamic capsules.
Since only four frequencies are available for use, only four S4.04 series transmitters can be used at once (if all are programmed to the same four frequencies) so the S4.04 range is appropriate for a site with up to four systems in use at one time or for where the likelihood of other users trying to use the same frequencies is considered acceptable.

Although the most inexpensive model in the Trantec range, with basic features, this is a diversity type, which compares automatically the signal between two antennae and chooses the strongest signal as the transmitter is moved about. It uses phase lock loop (PLL) quartz-controlled tuning for stability, and has both unbalanced and professional balanced audio outputs.
On the front are LEDs to show selected channel, audio peak overload, and which of the two diversity channels are currently providing the signal. Channel set, sync, and power buttons are easily accessible on the front. Two non-detachable antenna may be swivelled for optimum positioning. On the rear there is a co-axial DC power input, a balanced XLR connection and an unbalanced 6.35mm jack output.

Fitted with a cardioid dynamic head with basket windshield, this resin coated transmitter can be used on any of four pre-programmed frequencies. A collar rotates and a sleeve slides back to reveal a battery compartment, infrared port, channel LED display, and a switch to set frequency. On the end of the body is fixed antenna with on-off power switch.

A pocket transmitter, which may be clipped to clothing with its belt-clip, this operates on four pre-programmed frequencies. The plastic body has a sliding panel which reveals a battery compartment, controls to set frequency, gain and select either microphone or guitar input. On the top there is an on/off switch and power/battery LED. A screw-in antenna and a 3.5mm input jack with screw-locking facility are also situated on the top of the transmitter pack.
