Precision Audio Monitor (PAM) series offers a number of confidence monitoring tools, supporting stereo, multi-channel, multi-language and surround-sound environments for use in applications including master control rooms, ingest and OB production. De-embedded audio is monitored through internal loudspeakers, headphones, or external stereo or 5.1 monitoring systems and levels may be displayed on OLED screens. The units support EBU and ATSC standards, SMTPE 2020 metadata monitoring, ITU BS177071 loudness measurement and histogram, user-configurable measurements through selectable bar-graph scales and GPIO and serial remote control.
Bar-graph scales include BBC PPM, EBU PPM, EBU Digital, Nordic, VU and DIN types. Each model has a single headphone socket mounted on the front panel, a 6.35mm, A-gauge jack, and a stereo, balanced-line output via two 3-pin, male, XLR connectors, with fixed or variable analogue multi-channel outputs for external stereo or 5.1 loudspeaker system integration.
Studio audio monitoring units are also available, see TSL AUDIO MONITORING UNITS - Studio Audio Monitors
The PAM1 range displays audio level measurement on two 2.4 inch OLEDS, designed for video confidence and metadata status indication. Equipped with RS422 and GPI control, it has two balanced stereo inputs and two balanced stereo AES channels via four, 3-pin, female XLRs. The PAM1 Mk2 also has two SDI inputs via 75 ohm BNC, associated balanced stereo output via dual 3-pin male XLRs, eight balanced output audio channels via 25-pin D-sub connector, four pairs or eight mono AES channels via 25-pin D-sub connector and three SDI outputs via BNC. Inputs and outputs are controlled using a rotary encoder to activate the 'scroll to hear' function and to access menus and presets. A second rotary encoder controls internal and external loudspeaker and headphone levels, with a push action which cuts or dims the loudspeaker audio. Accompanied by five hot-key buttons, the dedicated 'Shortcut' button gives simple operation of the PAM1 Mk2, which offers access to a unique menu page including the most commonly used menu commands.

PAM2 Mk Non Dolby
The PAM2 Shares the technical attributes of the PAM1, with an additional four balanced stereo pair audio input channels, via a 25-pin D-sub connector, four pairs or eight mono AES Channels via a secondary 25-pin D-sub connector and an optical SPDIF input by means of a TOSLink connection. A rotary encoder is used to activate the 'scroll to hear' function and to access menus and presents. The volume control adjusts the level of the internal external loudspeaker and headphone levels; a push action cuts or dims the loudspeaker audio. Located below the 3.4 inch OLED screens, 8 buttons are used to recall previously settings, a ninth button toggles the data and loudness histogram screens and a tenth button is used to toggle the video screen display mode, or navigate back from menu modes.
