CANFORD HMA FIBRE CABLE ASSEMBLIES With Fibreco connectors and Belden Tactical cable

The industry standard, tactical fibre, expanded beam cables using Fibreco Junior connectors with both Belden GMTTD and GMTTA tight buffered tactical cables. They are assembled to order by Canford, usually on short lead times. The cables incorporate two or four Singlemode or Multimode fibres, swellable aramid yarn and a rugged, polyurethane jacket.

The Fibreco Junior connector is hermaphroditic which simplifies use as the cables will always be deployed correctly. Manufactured from Black anodised Aluminium, the Junior expanded beam connectors offer high performance and are offered in either two or four channel Multimode or Singlemode versions.

Canford offer two styles of connector, standard straight cable and a low profile right angled version which allows fitting in restricted areas such as touring racks etc.

Panel-mount connectors, with jacketed fibre for direct installation or break-out tails for patching or break-out tails for patching or splicing, are also available; see CANFORD HMA FIBRE BREAKOUT ASSEMBLIES With Fibreco panel type connectors

Canford's fibre termination facility is certified by Fibreco for termination of the Fibreco HMA connectors.

As part of the final test process Canford carry out both insertion and return loss measurement, as well as interferometry measurement on all Fibre terminations. Although some termination facilities do not use interferometry and rely merely on insertion and return loss testing to determine results Canford will always carry out interferometry as standard. Test results including 3D imagery of terminations can be supplied upon request.

Interferometry measures three critical dimensions required for continued reliability, end shape (radius of curvature measured in mm), the polished apex offset (measured in um) and fibre height (measured in nm). These three parameters all fall within tight industry standards which guarantees reliability when mating random connectors.
