SHURE WIRELESS SYSTEMS - ULX-D Series - Digital

Shure ULX-D series digital wireless systems have been designed for applications such a large conferencing events or campus installation where a higher density capacity is required. ULX-D is capable of operating up to sixty-three systems simultaneously within an 8MHz bandwidth. Along with the high density capability and Dante digital audio output capability, ULX-D also uses AES-256 encryption for security.

Frequency band: 606-67MHz (K51)

Usage Note: Licensing and legal use information for radiomic equipment in this product group is applicable to the UK only. Customers should check with the relevant regulatory body for the territory the equipment is to be used in prior to purchase to ensure appropriate legal usage and local environmental restrictions.

Receivers

ULXD4 Receiver – Single channel

One of three receivers in the ULX-D range, ULXD4 is a desktop, single channel receiver that can be mounted in a 1U, 19-inch format by using the included mounting bracket kit. The user can operate up to twenty-two compatible systems, in standard mode, or up to sixty-three compatible systems in high density mode – all within one 8MHz channel. Features such as over 120dB dynamic range and 24-bit/48kHz digital audio conversion, and interference detection and alert setup are included on the ULXD4 receiver. ‘Digital Predictive Switching Diversity’ aids smooth reception by silently switching to the best signal between receiving antenna, whilst the cleanest frequencies are automatically found, prioritised, and implemented when setting up a new channel.

The ULXD4’s front facing panel has visual aids to monitor RF on both channels A and B, audio input including overload, and menu/parameter setup via an LCD panel. Power button, control knob, menu buttons, and gain up/down control buttons are also located on the front facing panel, along with an infrared port for syncing with selected transmitter.

The rear facing panel of the receiver houses all audio and data connectivity including BNC connectors for antenna A and B, 15V DC power supply input, Ethernet port with associated LED for status, and audio output on balanced 3-pin XLR with mic/line level selection via switch, or 6.35mm jack line level output. The Ethernet port allows connection to Shure’s Wireless Workbench software with compatible computer, whilst AMX and Crestron control system compatibility is also standard. Rack mounting fixing is provided to fit 19-inch racking.

Audio frequency response: 20-20kHz. Latency: less than 2.9ms. Dynamic range: greater than 120dB, analogue; 130dB, Dante digital. Audio output: balanced 3-pin XLR, -6dB, mic; +24dB, 3-pin XLR line; +18dB, 6.35mm line output. Networking: single port Ethernet 10/100Mbps. Network addressing: DHCP or manual IP address.

ULXD4D Receiver – Dual channel

ULXD4D has all the functionality and specifications as the ULXD4 receiver, however it is doubled in terms of channels and is powered via 100-240V AC via IEC power inlet. ULXD4D also has both primary and secondary network connections.

Dimensions (H x W x D): 44 x 482 x 274mm. Weight: 3.36kg, without antenna.

ULXD4Q Receiver – Quad channel

ULXD4Q has all the functionality and specifications as the ULXD4 receiver, however it is quadrupled in terms of channels and is powered via 100-240V AC via IEC power inlet. ULXD4Q also has both primary and secondary network connections.

Dimensions (H x W x D): 44 x 482 x 274mm. Weight: 3.45kg, without antenna.

Transmitters

ULXD2 Transmitter - Handheld

ULXD2 handheld transmitter is manufactured from metal for durability and offers interchangeable mic capsules including SM58, BETA58a, KSM8, BETA87a amongst others. This handheld transmitter is able to transmit a frequency range of 20Hz to 20kHz with flat response, however each mic capsule offers a different frequency response curve. Usage is up to nine hours continuous a single SB900-B lithium battery pack, or AA alkaline batteries can be employed as an alternative. External charging contacts on the base of the microphone allow the recharging of the SB900-B batteries whilst in situ when used with the compatible Shure SBC200-UK or SBC800-UK charging unit. Like the ULXD1, the ULXD2 offers an LCD screen that shows important information including group/channel and frequency. Lockout functions are accessible by navigating the user menu.

Operating range: 100m without barrier. Display: LCD. Power source: 2x AA alkaline batteries or single SB900-B lithium battery pack. Dimensions (D x L): 51 x 278/256mm Weight: 340/348g.

Shure microphone clamps are supplied as standard with a 5/8 inch thread. 5/8 inch to 3/8 inch adapters are available separately (stock code 53-217). Shure WA616M is a 5-pack of optional identification rings for the ULXD2.

ULXD1 Transmitter - Beltpack

Available with TA4M connector (74-5251) or 3-pin LEMO connector (74-5252), ULXD1 is manufactured from metal and has many of the features the handheld ULXD2 transmitter offers. ULXD1 has a detachable quarter-wave antenna and TA4F/LEMO3 connector for use with optional WA302, WA304, WA310, cables, WA360 in-line audio mute switch, or compatible lavalier microphones. ULXD1 has charging contacts for docking and charging with optional SBC200-UK or SBC800-UK battery charger, and can be powered using either 2x AA battery cells or a single SB900-B rechargeable lithium battery pack.

Operating range: 100m without barrier. Display: LCD. Power source: 2x AA lithium/alkaline batteries. Battery life: 9h, alkaline/lithium-ion. Dimensions (H x W x D): 86 x 66 x 23mm. Weight: 142g.

A range of compatible lavalier, miniature, and headworn microphones are available. See SHURE MICROPHONES - Miniature or see SHURE MICROPHONES - Headworn

ULXD6 Transmitter – Boundary microphone transmitter

ULXD6 is available in white or black variety, with cardioid or omnidirectional patterns, and is AES 256-bit encrypted boundary microphone for use with the ULXD4/ULXD4D/ULXD4Q receiver. ULXD6 is also compatible with Shure’s QLX-D series of receivers and is a handy addition to conferencing or lecture theatre setups.

A configurable mute button allows the user to switch between toggle, push-to-mute, push-to-talk, or disabled modes, with an LED showing status. The power on/off button is located on the underside of the microphone unit, whilst both infrared port and charging connector are located on the rear facing panel. Finally, a battery power status LED illuminates amber when a battery is missing or not inserted correctly; green when the microphone is docked on a compatible charging station; red when the battery has less than 30minutes charge remaining; and off when the battery has more than 30minutes charge remaining. When using AA alkaline batteries, runtime is estimated at up to 8hrs 40mins; whilst with the SB900-B lithium-ion battery, run time is up to 9hrs 20mins. Using an SB900-B battery also gives the ability to remotely monitor battery health, status, and runtime.
