CANFORD CAT5E, CAT6 & CAT6A PATCH PANEL – Economy

A range of panels supplied with CAT5e or CAT6 or CAT6A, screened or unscreened RJ45 connectors, in feedthrough or IDC format, enabling system patching and easy connection of portable or external equipment. RJ45 types are available as feedthrough 'back-to-back' female-female couplers or as 'Tool-less' sockets for IDC termination with butterfly-style levers to close the housing and make the termination. The individual keystone connectors snap-fit into a rear-mounted sub chassis and are presented flush with the face of the front panel.

Manufactured from 1.2mm steel, these panels are available with 16 or 24 equally-spaced cut-outs, with a dual-angled bottom plate extending 100mm behind the panel face, offering rigidity and cable lacing slots. The cable lacing area aligns vertically with the lower edge of fitted connectors allowing clearance for cable ties and avoiding infringement of the rack space below.

A designation-strip holder with snap-on cover is fitted on the front panel to permit the supplied paper strips to be inserted before or after installation; 7.5mm of printable height is available. Templates for printing designation strip labels, available as a DWG file for AutoCAD and compatible applications, can be downloaded from the appropriate product page on the Canford website. Spare 432mm designation strip paper (not suitable for printers) and covers are available, see CANFORD DESIGNATION STRIPS - Snap-on.

Panels are finished in a hardwearing Black powder coating.

If a larger number of custom populated panels or non-standard metalwork is required, this is also possible. For further information or a quotation please contact the custom metalwork team via email, custommetal@canford.co.uk. Alternatively contact Sales.

There are multiple Canford PRO ranges with extruded style panels, complete with cranked lacing bars also available for CAT5e, CAT6 and CAT6A. See Data and Communications Patch and Connection Panels for further details.

Optional accessories: see Canford Rackbracket - Recess mounting brackets.

Technical Note:

Unscreened (UTP) 100 ohm CAT5E RJ45 modules are suitable for LAN data rates up to 100Mb/s and for AES/EBU digital audio. CAT5E supports short-run Gigabit Ethernet (1000Mb/s) networking by utilising all four wire pairs and is backward-compatible with ordinary CAT5. For electrically noisy areas, screened (FTP) units are recommended.

CAT5 100BASE-T [100Mbps]: 100m (90m solid core installed + 10m stranded flexible patch cable) In any alien crosstalk environment
CAT5 1000BASE-T [1Gbps]: 100m (90m solid core installed + 10m stranded flexible patch cable) in any alien crosstalk environment

The Cat6 system utilises al four pairs of copper wires and supports Gigabit (1000Mb/s) Ethernet over distances up to 100m.

CAT6 10/100/1000BASE-T: 100m (90m solid core installed + 10m stranded flexible patch cable) in any alien crosstalk environment
CAT6 10BBASE-T: 55m (45m + 10m) in favourable alien crosstalk environment, 37m (27m + 10m) in hostile alien crosstalk environments, i.e. where data cables are bundled together.

The CAT6A (or CAT6 ‘Augmented) system utilises all four pairs of copper wires and supports 10GBASE-T (10GB/s) Ethernet over distances up to 100m.

CAT6A 10GBASE-T: 100m (90m + 10m) in any alien crosstalk environment.
