NEUMANN MICROPHONES - Shotgun

A selection of microphones from Neumann designed for use in studio, on-set, or recording environments. All Neumann microphones are available from Canford; so if the desired model is not listed at www.canford.co.uk, please contact Sales.

KMR 81i Short shotgun

Available in nickel (KMR 81i) or black (KMR 81i-MT) finishes, this short-shotgun microphone has been designed for medium distances such as film dialogue, with a 'clear and focused' sound while the microphone is placed outside the picture. Due to the supercardioid/lobe pickup pattern, off-axis colouration is minimized to avoid sound change whilst talent is moving. KMR 81i can handle high SPLs of up to 128dB without audible distortion, or 138dB SPL with the pre-attenuation switch engaged. A second switch activates a 200Hz low cut to compensate for the proximity effect when the microphone is use at short distances. The mic offers a frequency response of 20Hz to 20kHz, a sensitivity of 18mV/Pa (+/-1dB), and a power consumption of 0.8mA via +48V phantom power - making it a good pairing for portable recording devices and carts.

Included accessories: WS 82 windscreen.

Dimensions (Diam. x L): 21 x 213mm. Weight: 145g

KMR 82i Shotgun

KMR 82i is a shotgun microphone for longer distances such as ENG and stage applications, albeit it is also applicable to recording individual instruments in an orchestra - for example. It has an acceptance angle of 45-degrees and minimal off-axis coloration. A high pass filter suppresses subsonic interference such as wind and handling noise, and for use at shorter distances the filter frequency can be shifted to 120Hz using the low cut switch. This compensates for the proximity effect. To avoid sibilance problems in close speech applications, a second switch activates an electronic filter which compensates for the capsule’s treble boost. KMR 81i offers a frequency response of 20Hz to 20kHz, a sensitivity of 21mV/Pa (+/-1dB), and a power consumption of 0.7mA via +48V phantom power.

Included accessories: WS 82 windscreen, transport tube.

Dimensions (Diam. x L): 21 x 395mm. Weight: 250g
