A range of ruggedized CAT6A connectors, using proven Neutrik style body-shells, cable clamping, and positive latching mechanisms. The panel connectors are integrated into the main Neutrik ranges, permitting easy mounting in Universal Series panels and other pre-punched metalwork.
The Ethercon was designed for data transfer interconnections where a more robust connector is required than the basic RJ45, and are especially suitable for location and outdoor applications, stage, studio and other commercial and industrial environments. It utilises the robust Neutrik latch rather than the delicate plastic latch on the RJ45 (which is disabled in the Ethercon application).
The cable connector is a robust diecast shell that fits over an RJ45 plug carrier. Separated pairs are inserted into slots on an IDC wire management block. Pressing the block together with a HX-CAT6A parallel press tool (stock code: 55-684) or pliers completes the termination. Braided shielding or drain wire is wrapped around a metal cable-shield placed at the rear of the block and then inserted into the main connector shell. The normal style Neutrik chuck and gland with integrated strain relief are used, holding everything in place. Final assembly of connector normally requires no special tools, although gland tightening tool HXTT-14 (stock code 55-685) and cable pulling/sleeving lubricant may be found helpful when terminating larger cables such as Canford Cat7-F-HD.
Standard gland colour is black, with colour coding rings available, type XXR, as accessories. Suitable for 7.0 to 9.5mm cable diameters, and an insulation diameter of 1.10 - 1.60mm; for types with a -T suffix, an insulation diameter of 0.85 - 1.10mm. They are available with nickel or black shells.
CAT6A Ethercon comply with IEC11801 and TIA/EIA 568-C.2, PoE+ to 802.3at type 2, and are IP65 protected when mated with NE8FDX-P6-W or NE8FDX-Y6-W.
