DPA MICROPHONES - Miniature and Subminiature

A series of miniature and subminiature microphones from DPA, designed for use in theatre, live performance, interview, and presentation. The microphones are available in various forms with differing colours, pickup patterns, and sensitivities.

Ordering Note

Versions listed with MicroDot termination are for use with optional DPA MicroDot adapter, however some items are also listed as fixed type termination versions. These versions do not have a MicroDot termination and are available as fixed 3-pin LEMO (03), TA4F mini-XLR (10), or 3.5mm locking jack with Sennheiser compatibility (34). Please specify the termination required when ordering.

2061 Series - Miniature

This series of microphone has been designed to provide 'excellent results' for voice amplification or recording within broadcast studios and ENG, theatres, houses of worship, event venues, and various other content creation situations. The microphone is for sound engineers that require 'a great-sounding, no-frills microphone' with 'clear and authentic sound' in a rugged body when budgets are tight.

2061 - For Loud SPL

Available in four colours and with a choice of three termination types including 3-pin LEMO, TA4F, and 3.5mm jack; DPA 2061 is an omnidirectional microphone designed for those with a tighter budget and not necessarily looking for the modularity of MicroDot termination or removable frequency cap. The frequency response is listed as between 20Hz to 20kHz, but DPA also publish an effective frequency range (+/-3dB) of 50Hz to 16kHz with a 3dB soft boost at 8kHz to16 kHz - which, at 8kHz adds brilliance and air to the audio signal.

The microphone is IP57 certified for dust ingress and temporary immersion in water, and allows the user to clean the microphone in demineralized water. The cable is Kevlar reinforced and has a diameter of 1.6mm and a length of 1.5m.

Brown and beige versions are available with either 3-pin LEMO, TA4F, or 3.5mm jack connector, and without accessories.
Black and white versions are available with either 3-pin LEMO, TA4F, or 3.5mm jack connector, and are shipped complete with 1x SCM0035 microphone clip and 1x miniature foam windscreen in respective colour.

6000 CORE Series - Subminiature

DPA’s CORE 6000 series of sub-miniature microphones, formally known as the d:screet series, feature their ‘smallest ever’ microphone capsule. Designed for use in pro audio markets such as broadcast, theatre and film, the 6000 series sub-miniature microphones are 3mm in diameter, ‘two millimetres smaller than the DPA’s existing 4000 series’ microphones.

The CORE technology used in the capsules provides a more defined sound by minimizing distortion and expanding the dynamic range. Although originally designed for use with wireless systems in theatre, television and close-positioned instrument applications, the omnidirectional capsules also use ‘hermetic sealing’ and a ‘nano coating’ to provide an IP rating of 58 – making the microphones applicable to on field sports where moisture from the body or atmosphere are unavoidable.

6060 CORE - For normal SPL

Available in black, beige, brown, or white the omnidirectional 6060 CORE sub-miniature lavalier microphone is 3mm in diameter and has a capsule and cap that are manufactured from stainless steel and ‘treated with Physical vapor deposition (PVD)’ to give a coating that aids durability. The cap is removable for cleaning. The capsules also use ‘hermetic sealing’ and a ‘nano coating’ to provide an IP rating of 58 – making the microphones applicable to on field sports where moisture from the body or atmosphere are unavoidable. 6060 CORE has a dynamic range of 102dB typical, and a maximum SPL of 134dB with a nominal sensitivity of 20mV/Pa. The microphone has the same cable relief as the 5mm CORE microphones and has a fixed cable of 1.8m with a diameter of 1.6mm. The microphones are fitted with cable terminated in a 'MicroDot' connector. A range of adapters for different wireless transmitters and direct cable connection is available.

Frequency response: 20Hz-20kHz; 40Hz-20kHz, +/-2dB (with 4dB soft boost at 8-20kHz). Equivalent noise level: 24dB typical, A-weighted. Signal to noise ratio: 70dB typical, A-weighted. Weight: 8g, including cable and MicroDot connector.

6061 CORE - For loud SPL

The 6061 capsule has all the physical properties of the 6060 capsule however it has been designed to handle ‘very loud sound sources’ and typically used as ‘a hidden head mounted mic in theatre’ style application. 6061 CORE has a dynamic range of 102dB typical, and a maximum SPL of 144dB with a nominal sensitivity of 6mV/Pa. The microphones are fitted with cable terminated in a 'MicroDot' connector. A range of adapters for different wireless transmitters and direct cable connection is available.

Frequency response: 20Hz-20kHz; 40Hz-20kHz, +/-2dB (with softboost at 8-20kHz). Equivalent noise level: 26dB typical, A-weighted. Signal to noise ratio: 68dB typical, A-weighted.

4000 CORE Series - Miniature

Formally known as the DPA d:screet series, this range of DPA CORE microphones implements new technology within existing DPA capsules, to provide a more defined sound by minimising distortion and expanding the dynamic range. Although originally designed for use with wireless systems in theatre, television and close-positioned instrument applications, the omnidirectional capsules also use 'hermetic sealing' and a 'nano coating' to provide an IP rating of 58 - particularly relevant to on-field sports, where moisture from the body or atmosphere are unavoidable.

The acoustic response of the microphone is selected by the choice of two 'protection grids' supplied with each microphone. The short grid gives a 3dB soft boost at 8-20kHz and is intended to be used when the microphone is mounted on the performer's head. The long grid gives a 10dB boost at 12kHz, intended for chest placement. The grids can be detached from the microphone and cleaned of sweat, make-up etc. with alcohol. The microphones are fitted with cable terminated in a 'MicroDot' connector. A range of adapters for different wireless transmitters and direct cable connection is available. A range of fixing clips (not included) are also available.

4060 CORE - For normal SPL

The omnidirectional DPA CORE 4060 has a 6dB increase over the Legacy 4060 capsule, giving a dynamic range of 106dB typical, and a maximum SPL of 134dB. Originally designed for use in television and film sound recording, the microphone is also frequently used for a range of close-miking, including instruments. The pre-polarised condenser mic has a frequency range of 20Hz-20kHz and a nominal sensitivity of 20mV/Pa. The microphone is 'well suited for applications where the sound source is more remote or damped and you need to have a good balance signal versus noise'. the 4060 is best suited for close pick-up of voice or instrument.
