SENNHEISER RADIOMICS - 3000/5000 series

Sennheiser are well established as one of the leading manufacturers of radio microphone systems, with wide acceptance in the broadcast and entertainment industry. This selection includes static receivers and both handheld and body-pack transmitters as well as a selection of accessories..

Substantial stocks are held in the UK, together with crystals and EPROMS for not only the deregulated bands but also the popular licensed mobile frequencies as well as broadcast, theatre and fixed-site channels.

All Sennheiser radio microphones are fully type-approved to the relevant MPT specification (MPT 1311 or MPT 1345 for the de-regulated channels and MPT 1350 for the more powerful licensed channels).

Technical Note:

Transmitters and receivers in the 3000 and 5000 series below are compatible with each other but are not compatible with Sennheiser 'Evolution' series radio microphones.

EM3732-II - Receiver

Discontinued

This twin-channel, true diversity radiomic receiver has a switchable bandwidth of up to 184MHz, with frequency adjustment in increments of 5kHz steps. It is equipped with Sennheiser 'HiDyn Plus' and 'HDX' DSP-emulated processing to reduce RF noise. Two OLED screens clearly display vital information including RF signal, frequency, channel and bank, transmitter battery life, and menu selection. A jog dial can be used to navigate and operate the icon based menu functions and settings, whilst hot-keys can be used for storing and synchronisation functions. The front facing panel of the receiver also has a 6.35mm jack headphone output with volume control, with headphone selection switchable with channel specific illuminated buttons. The power button, which is also illuminated, can be found to the right side of the front facing panel.

The rear panel offers RF inputs and RF loop-out connections, as well as one AF output per channel on an electronically-balanced, 3-pin, XLR. A digital AES-3 output is also situated on the rear panel, along with word clock input and loop-out connections. The receiver can be monitored and operated remotely via a PC running the supplied Sennheiser WSM software and connected via the Ethernet socket. AC mains input is via IEC, 100-240V AC, 50/60Hz.

SK 5212-II - Bodypack Transmitter

The SK5212 II is a compact bodypack transmitter that is powered by a single AA alkaline battery and offers over 5 hours operation. Microphone input is via 3-pin locking connection, compatible with lapel microphones such as the MKE 2-4-GOLD-C and MKE 2-5-C. A backlit green LCD panel gives the user vital information such as battery life, frequency, channel, and menu operation, which can be accessed via buttons and jog wheel hidden behind the battery compartment door. New to the SK5212-II is Sennheiser 'Lol' (Low Intermodulation Mode), which increases interference immunity, particularly useful during multi-channel operation. Audio sensitivity is user-adjustable in 1dB steps from -30dB to +40dB. SK 5212-II has a frequency response of 60-20,000Hz and a switchable 120Hz high pass filter can be selected to reduce low frequencies caused by wind or microphone handling. A detachable antenna is included, as is a belt clip for convenient placement.

Note: Body-pack microphones and accessories are interchangeable between 3000 and 5000 series.


SKM 5200-II - Hand-held Transmitter

This is a high quality, multi-channel programmable, hand-held transmitter with the 'HiDyn Plus' noise suppression system that reduces RF noise.

Supplied as a body only, it requires a B 5000-2 (92-967) or BA 5000-2 (92-969) battery box as well as compatible microphone head such as ME 5002 (92-974), ME 5004 (92-975), ME 5005 (92-977), or ME 5009 (92-978). Neumann KK 104-S cardioid and KK 105-S supercardioid heads are also compatible.

A backlit LCD display shows vital information such as battery life, frequency, channel, and menu operations, which can be accessed via jog wheel located at the base of the microphone. It may be locked to prevent accidental adjustment. Audio sensitivity is user-adjustable in 1dB steps from -40dB to 0dB. The SKM 5200-II has a frequency response of 60-20,000Hz and a high-pass filter can be switched to off, or 120Hz/190Hz to reduce low frequencies caused by handling noise. It is powered by two AA batteries with operating time of up to 7 hours (based on alkaline batteries).
