This might be for a variety of reasons, one of which might be the use of an inverter to “step-up” low voltage DC to “mains voltage”. This purpose made spike, approximately 1200mm long × 9mm diameter, is supplied complete with a cast silicon/aluminium bronze cable clamp, with phosphor bronze fixing bolt. Using a copper outer layer, with steel core, the spike is intended to be fitted with any 1.8kg (4lb) "lump" hammer.
