CANFORD CONNECTOR PLATES

A large range of plates designed to fit BS4662 and BS1363 standard electrical flush or surface boxes. Plates are supplied with mounting holes for 1, 2, 3, 4, 6 or 8 connectors in the Canford “Universal” or Neutrik “D” series (24mm mounting hole), or blank for other punching by the user. Plate fixing screws plus appropriate connector mounting hardware is included. Connectors should be ordered separately as required. Note that due to the size of the mating connector, Neutrik NL4MP connectors should not be used in adjacent holes in F2 and F4 size plates).

For blank plates, users should take great care when punching mounting holes with Q-max type two-part punches, as the lacquered finish on the front face will be damaged unless only the male part of the punch set is used on the front face. Similarly, care should be taken to ensure that the punches to be used are suitable to punch 1.5mm sheet steel.

Type F - Metal, flat

Flat 1.5mm thick steel or brass plates, with rounded corners. Plates are available with both plated and painted finishes. Plated finishes are satin nickel (SN suffix) and polished brass (PB suffix). Painted types have an eggshell semi-gloss finish, and are available in white (W suffix) and black (B suffix). Colour references are RAL9010 Pure White and BS4800-00E53 (approx. RAL9005 Jet Black).

Type P - Plastic

Off white hard plastic, with contours and rounded-corner style to match MK ‘Logic Plus’ and many other electrical fittings. Designed for connectors to be fitted on the front surface (mounting holes are not countersunk). Suitable rounded corner surface boxes are 49-4402 and 49-4404.

Type PN – Plastic, convex

Off white plastic, with gently convex front face and rounded corners. Designed for connectors to be fitted on the front surface (mounting holes are not countersunk). Suitable rounded corner surface boxes are 49-4402 and 49-4404. Type PN1 and PN2 are 1-gang, PN3 is 2-gang.

Mounting boxes

It is recommended that boxes with a minimum depth of 31mm are used. (If the flush boxes are being installed in the building by a different contractor, remember to specify deep boxes are required.) Canford stocks suitable flush mount steel boxes with knockouts, which are suitable for all plates. Type F metal plates can be surface mounted using cast alloy boxes, finished black. Type P and PN plastic plates can be surface mounted with matching white plastic boxes.
