These 'Firewire' cables for transfer rates up to 800Mbits/s meet the IEEE-1394B specification. Two individually-screened twisted pair construction with foil and braid screening, plus 0.32 sq.mm (22 AWG) power cores enable maximum power transfer from host to peripheral.
IEEE1394B uses a 9-pole connector known as Type B. Type B to Type B cables are rated to 800Mbits/s. Cables are also available to connect to equipment fitted with Type 1 (6-pole) and Type 2 (4-pole) connectors, in these cases the speed is limited to 400Mbits/s.
