SONY LAVALIER MICROPHONES

The Sony ECM series of lavalier (tie-clip) microphones are well established as some of the most popular lavalier types in use. ECM44

Budget omnidirectional lavalier, suitable for broadcast, video, and a variety of sound reinforcement applications, including lectures, worship, presentations and demonstrations. Diameter is 6.6mm diameter, length 14.5mm, capsule weight 2.0g. Frequency response 40-15000Hz. Supplied with single and dual horizontal clip, vertical clip, case and foam windshield giving excellent wind-noise reduction.

ECM44B Black finish and supplied connected to a pre-amplifier housed in a separate barrel, with balanced XLR output. Powered by internal battery (type AA, approximate battery life 5,000 hours). No phantom power option.
ECM44BC Terminated in Hirose 4-pin connector for use with Sony radio-microphones or DC-78 power supply.

ECM77

Ultra-miniature, 5.6mm diameter, 12.5mm length, weight 1.5g. Extended frequency response (40-20000Hz) is enabled by new developments in mechanical and electronic construction. Intended for TV and stage applications, where the highest quality inconspicuous microphone is required. Even when hidden inside costumes, the carefully-tailored frequency response ensures detailed voice pick-up. Omnidirectional polar pattern. Supplied with single and dual horizontal clip, vertical clip, case and foam windshield giving excellent wind-noise reduction.

ECM88Discontinued

An omnidirectional, miniature, full frequency-response (20-20000Hz) lavalier microphone with a special design which really does almost eliminate handling and popping noise. The sealed dual diaphragm also reduces susceptibility to sweat, make-up and rain. The small size (3.5mm diameter, 16.8mm length) and genuinely omni-directional response make this microphone suitable for broadcast, theatre and high-quality presentations. Impedance 100 ohms, dynamic range >99dB, S/N (A wtd) >68dB.

ECM90

An ‘ultra-miniature’ lavalier microphone that measures 20.5mm in length and 3.5mm in diameter, and weighs only 1g. The omni-directional capsule is shielded to reduce risk of interference when in use with digital wireless systems, and the 1.2m fixed cable is either terminated with 4-pin Hirose or 3-pin Lemo connector (see versions below). Frequency response is 20Hz to 20kHz with a ‘flat’ curve providing ‘natural sound reproduction’.
