SHURE SM2 HEADSET Dual headset with dynamic boom microphone

SM2 Headworn Microphone

The SM2 is a comfortable, self-adjusting headset with dual-enclosed ear receivers and an attached broadcast-quality boom-mounted microphone. Designed for news and sports broadcasting, special events remote announcing, interviewing, and intercom systems the SM2 allows convenient hands-free operation.

Features

The SM2 microphone is a close-talking unidirectional dynamic with a response from 50 to 15,000 Hz. Because of its noise reducing character, it discriminates in favor of close sounds and against distant sounds. As a result, it can be used even under extremely noisy conditions without loss or masking of the voice signal. The microphone boom pivots through 155 degrees so that the microphone can be correctly positioned at the corner of the mouth either from the left or right side. A locking thumbscrew prevents the microphone from slipping or twisting out of place.

  • Close-talk microphone operation and unidirectional polar pattern for effective noise reduction
  • Smooth, natural microphone voice frequency response
  • Microphone can be worn on right or left side, boom pivots through 155 degrees
  • Microphone boom length adjusts through 89 mm (31/2 in) range
  • High sensitivity enclosed ear receivers block out room noise, enhance clarity of reception
  • Self-adjusting, free-swiveling cushioned earpieces promote user comfort and lower fatigue during extended periods of use
  • Cardioid dynamic

User Guides

SHURE MICROPHONES

A selection of the most popular designs are generally held in stock, but all the Shure range are available to order. Full brochures and data sheets are available on request. All types are 150 ohm output, with XLR connector, and are supplied complete with stand clamp, unless otherwise stated. Shure microphone clamps are supplied as standard with a 5/8″ thread. Models denoted by the E suffix include a 5/8″ to 3/8″ thread adapter. 5/8″ to 3/8″ adapters are also available separately (stock code 53-217).

SM7B

Cardioid dynamic studio ‘on-air’ microphone, for radio and TV voice-over work. Switches for presence boost and LF roll-off. Yoke assembly for accurate positioning.

SM10A-CN

“Head mic” - uses same noise cancelling capsule as SM2. Intended for performers who sing as they play, or other applications requiring “hands-free” operation.

SM11-CN

Dynamic lavalier microphone, supplied with tie clip and tietack mountings.

SM48-LCE

Similar to SM58, vocalist and speech microphone, with cardioid polar pattern and enhanced mid range response. Frequency response 55-14000Hz.

SM57-LCE

Well known cardioid with presence boost for well defined drum, string and amplifier instrument reproduction. Frequency response 40-15000Hz.

SM58-LCE/SM58SE

World standard rugged professional stage microphone, with distinctive Shure upper mid-range presence peak for an intelligible, lively sound. Frequency response 50-15000Hz. SM58SE has integral on/off switch.

Beta 57A

In the style of SM57, but with extended LF and HF response. Tight hypercardioid response.

Beta 58A

In the style of SM58, extended HF response. Tight hypercardioid.

Beta 87A

The latest addition to the highly successful Beta series, this is a hypercardioid (uni-directional) electret condenser microphone for high quality vocal/handheld use. Designed for professional sound reinforcement, broadcast and studio applications, the Beta 87 retains its tight supercardioid pattern throughout the frequency range to provide extreme maximum isolation and feedback rejection. Highly effective shock mount system cuts handling noise to a minimum, rugged construction and grille.

Beta 87C

As Beta 87A, but with cardioid pick-up, which has reduced rear lobe and broader frontal pattern, which may be preferred by artistes using in-ear-monitors rather than wedge monitors.

MX183/MX185/MX184

Condenser lavalier microphones in omnidirectional (MX183), cardioid (MX185) and supercardioid (MX184) polar patterns, with single and dual-microphone tie-clips for placement flexibility. Also includes RK100P phantom powered belt-clip pre-amp, and snap-fit foam windscreen. Supplied with the relevant 'Microflex' capsules, so can be re-configured by using alternative pattern capsules - R183B; omnidirectional, R185B; cardioid, R184B; supercardioid (order separately if required). Terminated with Tini-QG TA4F 4-Pin female mini connector and therefore compatible with suitable Shure wireless bodypack transmitters. Cable length 1.2m.

SM93

Discontinued

A diminutive lapel microphone, unusually, rectangularly shaped (9.4×5.8×3.8mm), the SM93 is equalised for optimum pick-up when worn on the chest. It is particularly suited to applications where the microphone is to be camouflaged by sewing into (black) clothing, using the bracket supplied, such as sound reinforcement for the clergy. A phantom powered pre-amplifier is provided, with in-line XLR style connector, to which it connects with a Tini-QG TA4F miniature plug.

MX392/MX393

Boundary layer microphones with interchangeable capsules. Available in omni (/O), cardioid (/C) and supercardioid (/S) versions, spare 'Microflex' capsules (R183B/5B/4B) permit change of response characteristics. Programmable membrane switches can be set to push-to-talk, push-to-mute or push-on/push-off modes. All electronics are housed in the base of the mic. These designs suit a range of applications such as conferencing, distance learning centres and churches. Each mic comes with a paint masking kit to allow the housing and the grille to be sprayed any colour to match the decor. MX392 also have logic control inputs and outputs, and have a fixed cable supplied unterminated. MX393 have detachable cable.

MX412N/MX418N

Miniature gooseneck condenser mics, available with two stem lengths, with high sensitivity and good gain-before-feedback. Gooseneck is 300 or 450mm long with a rigid section in the centre, helping to give a neater visual appearance. Mic capsule 11mm diameter, preamplifier incorporated into base, together with a variety of mounting options (locking flange mount, flush shock mount). Frequency response 80-20000Hz. MX412-N has 300mm stem, MX418-N has 450mm stem, both XLR plug-in types. Additional model MX412SE-N has side cable entry and surface mount flange. Body only, order 'Microflex' capsules separately; R183B; omnidirectional, R185B; cardioid, R184B; supercardioid
