SM93 Lavalier Microphone

The SM93 is an economical omnidirectional miniature lavalier condenser microphone designed for use in speech applications. Despite its small size, the microphone element provides full, clear sound comparable to that of much larger microphones. Its frequency response is tailored to body-worn applications, with low-end rolloff and presence rise.

The SM93 is powered by phantom power supplied by broadcast, sound reinforcement or recording equipment, or an external phantom supply. The SM93 operates over an extremely wide voltage range of 11 to 52 Vdc, covering both DIN and IEC phantom power standards.

A wireless version is available as the WL93.

Features

The SM93 is supplied with a sew-on mounting bracket, a mounting block with attached tie bar, and an acoustic windscreen to minimize wind noise in outdoor applications. It is also supplied with a dual mounting block with attached tie bar.

SM11

A miniature, omni-directional, dynamic microphone this is 'designed for use in television broadcasting, sound reinforcement, certain radio and motion picture applications, and similar uses where a small, professional-quality microphone is required'. The frequency response is 'optimized for lavalier use'. Supplied with 'a tie clasp assembly, tie tack assembly, connector belt clip, and zippered carrying bag'.
The cable is 1.2m long, two-conductor, shielded, non-detachable, fitted with an XLR connector with belt-clip.

SM93

Discontinued

A diminutive lapel microphone, unusually, rectangular shaped (9.4×5.8×3.8mm), the SM93 is equalised for optimum pick-up when worn on the chest. It is particularly suited to applications where the microphone is to be camouflaged by sewing into (black) clothing, using the bracket supplied, such as sound reinforcement for the clergy. A phantom powered pre-amplifier is provided, with in-line XLR style connector, to which it connects with a Tini-QG TA4F miniature plug.
