FOCUSRITE AUDIO INTERFACES - AoIP

Built on Focusrite’s decades of interface design experience and attention to audio detail, the RedNet series of audio interface has been designed for post production, broadcast audio, live sound and recording studio environments. These interfaces run with the flexibility of Dante, with some offering dual network connections and power redundancy.

RedNet A16R MKII Rackmount, 16x16 analogue I/O

RedNet A16R MkII is a 1U rackmount audio interface that allows sixteen channels of analogue to digital and digital to analogue, plus 1x AES3 channel-pair, for the Dante AoIP network. Designed for use on-the-road, in live sound, and broadcast environments, A16R MkII includes features including network and power redundancy, 'rugged construction', latching connectors, remote control and remote monitoring. RedNet A16R MkII has a sample rate convertor on the AES3 input pair allowing operation with any AES3 source irrespective of the sample rate or clocking of the Dante network.

Primary and secondary Ethernet connectors positioned on the rear facing panel allow maximum network reliability with 'seamless' switchover to a secondary network in the unlikely event of a network failure. These ports may alternatively be used to daisy-chain additional units when operating in 'Switched' mode. PSU A and B connection offer redundant power supply, with separate input sockets on the rear panel allowing one supply to be connected to an uninterruptible source. Each power supply's status can be monitored remotely over the network or from the front panel. Audio I/O is provided by 4x 8-channel (AES59) combined analogue DB25 connections, and in addition, channels 17 and18 act as permanent AES3 audio output. Word clock I/O, which is connected via BNC connectors, allows synchronisation of the Dante network to house clock, or the syncing of external equipment to the Dante network. DARS reference can also be accepted via the 3-pin XLR input connector.

The front facing panel of the audio interface features a set of LEDs to confirm PSU status, network status, sample rate, clock sources and signal presence on both input and output. It also houses the on/off AC power switch. The tri-coloured input signal level LEDs illuminate green when a signal of more than -42dBFS is present, orange when -6dBFS or more, and red when at 0dBFS. The tricoloured output signal level LEDs change colour at the same fixed levels as the input LEDs.

Included accessories: 2x IEC AC mains cables.

RedNet D16R MKII Rackmount, 16x16 AES3 I/O

RedNet D16R MkII audio interface features sixteen channels of AES3 connectivity to and from a Dante audio network. It has been designed to bridge between digital consoles, power amplifiers or any other AES3 equipped audio equipment and a Dante network. Primary and secondary Ethernet connectors positioned on the rear facing panel allow 'maximum network reliability', and dual power supplies with separate sockets afford redundancy in the event of power failure.

In addition to redundant power and dual network connections, the rear facing panel houses all other I/O connections including audio inputs and outputs by way of 2x standard 8-channel (AES59) combined digital I/O DB25 connections along with a pair of 3-pin XLR connectors. The XLR input replaces input channels 1 and 2 on the DB25 connector, while the XLR output connection replicates DB25 output channels 1 and 2. S/PDIF input and outputs are provided on RCA (phono) connectors; 'ideal for connecting CD players or solidstate recorders'. This input replaces channels 3 and 4 in the DB25 connector, while the output can be assigned to replicate any adjacent odd/even pair. Dual 75ohm BNC connectors allow for word clock synchronisation of the Dante network to house clock, or syncing external equipment to the Dante network. DARS reference can also be accepted via the XLR input connector.

The front facing panel of the RedNet D16R MkII houses a set of LEDs to confirm network status, sample rate, clock sources and signal presence on both input and output. It also houses the on/off AC power switch.

Included accessories: 2x IEC AC mains cables.

RedNet D64R Rackmount, 64x64 MADI/Dante bridge

RedNet D64R MADI Bridge is a 1U rack-mount unit that provides an interface between a MADI (AES10) device and the RedNet Ethernet audio system. Up to 64 channels of digital audio I/O is supported with sample rates of 44.1/48kHz, 32 channels at 96kHz, or 16 channels at 192kHz.

Primary and secondary Ethernet connectors positioned on the rear facing panel allow network reliability with 'seamless' switchover to a standby network in the event of a network failure. The network ports may also be used to daisy-chain additional units when operating in 'Switched' mode. Redundant power supplies (PSU A and B) with independent input sockets on the rear panel allow one supply to be connected to an uninterruptible source. Each PSU’s status can be monitored remotely over the network or from the front panel. The MADI connection can use both BNC coax and standard duplex fibre interfaces. A sample rate converter on each input and output allows operation with most MADI sources, irrespective of the sample rate or clocking of the Dante audio network. Word clock I/O on BNC connectors allows synchronisation of the Dante network or the MADI stream to house clock, plus syncing external equipment to the Dante network.

The front facing panel contains LEDs to confirm network status, sample rate, clock sources and MADI interface settings. There is also a latching on/off power switch positioned to the right hand side of the front facing panel.

RedNet HD32R Rackmount, 32x32 Pro Tools HD/Dante bridge

RedNet HD32R is a multichannel, bi-directional Dante interface, which allows an Avid Pro Tools HD system direct access to a Dante digital audio networking system. Each unit acts as a 32in/32out, or 16in/16out at 192kHz digital break in/out box and supports a wide range of Pro Tools HDX and HD cards. Up to 6x RedNet HD32R modules can be used with a Pro Tools HDX system and 5x with Pro Tools HD, allowing the maximum channel count for either.

The rear facing panel features primary and secondary Ethernet connectors to allow maximum network reliability with switchover to a standby network if required. The network ports may also be used to daisy-chain additional units when operating in 'Switched' mode. Power supply in connections A and B offer redundant power with each input having the ability to be monitored remotely over the network or from the front panel. 2x standard DigiLink (Mini-DigiLink) connectors allow connection with a Pro Tools HD/HDX PCIe card via a standard Pro Tools I/O cable, with the expansion connector allowing the user to connect to a 2nd Pro Tools HD I/O interface when unit is operating in Expansion Mode. In this mode RedNet HD32R provides 16-channels of I/O instead of 32.

The front facing panel contains a set of LEDs to confirm network status, sample rate, clock sources and signal presence on both input and output. A main power on/off switch is positioned to the right side of the front facing panel, and independent LEDs signify PSU A/B application.
