Flexibly designed to suit applications in audio, video, data networks and CCTV, the ES404 Series offers a range of cabinets to rack-mount 19-inch equipment on walls. With light weight, welded-steel construction for strength and rigidity, they are available in seven heights, two depths and two colours and are supplied complete with a steel-framed, clear, tinted, acrylic front door.
The cabinet sides, base and top are constructed with folded steel sheet and have ventilation slots. Blank panels cover cable entry cut-outs in the top and base. Two pairs of 19 inch, rack-mounting profiles are mounted on slots in front-to back rails and are adjustable through the depth of the rack. These have apertures for standard cage nuts, three per U, to mount equipment across the open faces of the rack. In addition, the 550mm deep models have mounting strips formed by the rear of the rack. If equipment, such as chassis guides, is to be mounted inside the rack, accessory mounting angles are available, see optional accessories below.
This range offers the unusual facility to upgrade the standard single-section cabinet by adding an optional rear section. This gives extra depth, but more importantly gives access to the rear of the equipment without taking it out of the cabinet. The rear section, which is in two, hinged, parts, is fixed to the wall. The front section is attached, and can then be swung away for rear access when a lock and retaining clips are released.
The front door is fitted with quick-release hinges and a cylinder lock; it may be hung on either side. It sits flush with the cabinet top and base when shut. A plain steel door is available as an option for grey cabinets; these also have quick-release hinges and a cylinder lock. Note that cabinets are always supplied complete with the steel-framed acrylic door.

The maximum internal depths for equipment in 450 and 550mm deep models is 445mm or 545mm respectively
Clearance between the front mounting-angles and the door, at the position closest to the door, is 5mm.
Finish: Light grey, RAL 7035, or black, RAL 9004, powder coat.

Rear Section: The cabinet can be upgraded to a double-section cabinet on the 9U, 12U, 15U and 18U versions, by adding the optional 130mm hinged rear section, which increases the depth and also allows access, via a swing frame, to the rear of installed equipment. Standard 19-inch panels can be mounted in the rear section for use with connectors, for example, if the extra depth is not required for equipment.
