A selection of Wharfedale Pro active loudspeakers designed for sound reinforcement in sectors such as live music, classroom, conference hall, transport hub, and sports club. The internal amplification allows the user to have a direct audio feed without the need for external amplifiers - therefore allowing longer cable runs from balanced output of audio source to loudspeaker.
TITAN 8A MKII - 8-inch driver, 180W continuous
Wharfedale Pro Titan 8active is the smallest loudspeaker in the Titan series. With a 2-way, bi-amplified design, the loudspeaker houses a single 8-inch low frequency driver with 1.53-inch voice coil; and a high frequency compression driver with 1-inch voice coil and 1.2-inch exit. The loudspeaker is powered by 150W RMS low frequency amplifier and 30W RMS high frequency dedicated amplifier, both class D in design and providing a frequency response of 70Hz to 20kHz at +/-3dB.
The loudspeaker is manufactured from injection moulded polypropylene and has a single built in, rubberised carry handle on the right facing side. The base of the loudspeaker has an internal 35mm top-hat mounting point with lock screw, and moulded feet to aid stability when positioned on the floor or table top. If rigging is required, the user can use the 8x M6 threaded inserts along with compatible mounting hardware. Compatible brackets include WPB-2, WPB-3, and WPB-T8.
The rear facing panel of the loudspeaker houses all I/O connectivity and control including 6.35mm jack/3-pin XLR combination connector for balanced input, 3-pin XLR output connection to link to another speaker in the chain, and power input by way of fused IEC AC mains input. A rocking power switch has an associated green LED to indicate power on status. In addition to the I/O connectivity, switching includes mic/line selector, rotary volume controller, and rotary controllers for 10kHz (HF) and 100Hz (LF) -10dB to +10dB cut/boost. A switch allows the user to send either mix output or looped output via the output connection. A red LED signifies limiting status, whilst a final switch allows the user to turn the horn LED - an LED that emanates from the HF driver on the front of the loudspeaker; on or off.
Speaker protection includes amplifier and thermal protection, low line voltage shut down, driver protection, DC protection including shorting, and clip limiter. Cooling is by way of heat sink on the upper rear facing amplifier panel.
Frequency response: 70Hz - 20kHz, +/-3dB; 65Hz - 20kHz, -10dB. Maximum SPL: 124dB, 1m. RMS power: 150W, LF; 30W, HF. Peak power: 300W, LF; 60W, HF. Dimensions (HxWxD): 396 x 266 x 221mm. Weight: 6.25kg.
TITAN AX12 - 12-inch driver, 300W continuous
Wharfedale Pro Titan AX12 is the most popular active loudspeaker in this range. With a 12-inch driver, 2.5-inch voice coil, and frequency response from 55Hz to 18kHz, the loudspeaker is suited to vocal and music reproduction whether for FoH or monitoring applications. The titanium manufactured high frequency compression driver has a 1.75-inch coil and 1-inch exit. The loudspeaker is powered by 250W RMS low frequency amplifier and 50W RMS high frequency dedicated amplifier, both class D in design; to offer a maximum SPL of 128dB at peak/1m.
The loudspeaker is manufactured from injection moulded polypropylene and has a built in, rubberised carry handle on both left and right sides. The base of the loudspeaker has an internal 35mm top-hat mounting point with lock screw, and moulded feet to aid stability when positioned on the floor or table top. If rigging is required, the user can use the 10x M8 threaded inserts along with compatible mounting hardware. Compatible brackets include WPB-1, WPB-2, WPB-6, and WPB-T12.
The rear facing panel of the loudspeaker houses all I/O connectivity and controls. Input channels A and B are by way of individual balanced 3-pin XLR and 6.35mm jack connections. Channel A has a switch to allow the channel input type (mic/line), and both channels have dedicated rotary volume controller. A 6-position rotary controller switches between six inbuilt DSP settings including flat, monitor, speech, bass, punch, and live. A 3-pin XLR output connection is provided to link to another speaker in the chain, with switching provided to give a looped input feed or mix output - including optional 90Hz high pass filter, feed. Power input by way of fused IEC AC mains input. A rocking power switch has an associated green LED to indicate power on status. A red LED signifies limiting status, whilst a switch allows the user to turn the horn LED - an LED that emanates from the HF driver on the front of the loudspeaker; on or off.
Speaker protection includes amplifier and thermal protection, power on protection, low line voltage shut down, DC protection including shorting, and clip limiter. Cooling is by way of convection using the metal module on the rear facing panel.
Frequency response: 55Hz -18kHz, +/-3dB; 50Hz - 20kHz, -10dB. Maximum SPL: 128dB, 1m. Sensitivity: 98dB, 1W/1m. RMS power: 250W, LF; 50W, HF. Peak power: 500W, LF; 100W, HF. Dimensions (HxWxD): 582.7 x 384.6 x 318.6mm. Weight: 12.4kg.
TITAN AX15 - 15-inch driver, 420W continuous
Titan AX15 has the same I/O, switching, and DSP functionality as Titan AX12, however it has a 15-inch low frequency driver and higher output - designed for applications where an extended bass response is required in comparison to the 12-inch Titan AX12.
