Consisting of two parts, used singly or together, this ingenious device solves many mounting problems associated with microphone stands. It may be used as a discreet guitar clamp or for mounting pop-shields, goosenecks and other small accessories on microphone stands and booms of many types. Two adapters may be used to mount a crossed-pair from a K&M boom or stand.
The adapter is made up of two parts. Part A is an 15mm diameter rod with 3/8” BSW male thread at one end and 3/8″ female at the other. Its function is to connect in-line to a microphone stand or boom and provide an 15mm mounting point for part B, for use in cases where part B will not fit the stand in question. See CANFORD THREAD ADAPTERS, for accessories to match part A to 1/2″, 5/8″ and photographic threads.
Part B is fastened at right-angles to part A, or an 11mm or 15mm diameter tube, (fitting most K&M microphone stands and booms) by means of a choice of two radially-drilled clearance holes and an axial thumb-screw. The axial 3/8” threaded stud at the other end is then used to mount whatever hardware is required. The K&M 3/8” locking ring is suitable for use with this adapter, if required.
Phew!.. Never mind all that, look at the pictures! Ed.
