Cramlington-based, SITS Group, which provides flexible and versatile cloud solutions for private and public sector businesses, was first retained by Washington-based Canford Audio Limited in 2013, to install a data back-up solution.
Canford is one of the UK’s leading suppliers of audio, video and communications equipment and the project proved so successful it has re-engaged the experts at SITS to replace the storage solution there.
The aim was to give them a rock solid platform to accommodate all their data, which would not only be resilient but also offer benefits in terms of scale and performance.
One of the elements of the project was to ensure that if a server failed, it would automatically re-start on a surviving piece of hardware. This means the client always has continuity of business and, increasingly, businesses view that as a necessity. The other aspect of the project was to address the company’s increased storage requirements. We all know data growth is explosive, not only in our personal lives, but also in business. The new storage solution uses software to compress the data and, therefore, make the growth of data more manageable.

The £40,000 project, delivered over two months, is the latest in a string of client wins for SITS, which was named the fastest growing medium business of 2015 for companies with an annual turnover of between £5m and £15m, at the Ward Hadaway Fastest 50 Awards.
We knew, from working with SITS Group before, that not only are they highly skilled and professional but they are able to anticipate our future IT needs and advise us accordingly.
We pride ourselves in providing continuous core IT services to staff and ultimately our customers. Therefore, it was crucial that the work was completed without any interruption to the working day and the solution provides us with even greater resilience in the event of a problem. By carrying out this complicated and specialised refresh of our IT infrastructure, SITS have ensured that is possible.
