Last week, we attended the Sunderland Business Excellence Awards. Two years ago, one of our young apprentices, Lucas, won Apprentice of the Year. This year, we've been nominated again, this time under the Sustainability Initiative of the Year.
We are delighted to announce that, despite facing some serious competition, we won! You can read the full story in this year's Source Material magazine when it arrives in December, but the judges were incredibly impressed by the changes we've made to our business in the last twelve months.
A huge thanks to everyone who has been involved in the transformation of our building. We are now using just a third of the energy we were a few years ago, and we are generating half of that ourselves. A particular mention has to go to Karl (Site Services and HSE Manager) and Dylan (Site Services Coordinator) for their tireless efforts in keeping our projects (large and small) on track.
