CANFORD WALLBOXES - Flush mounting, modular

A series of rugged steel wall boxes offering a vast range of connection possibilities when combined with ‘Universal’ series connectors. A robust, folded chassis forms the basis for the back box, which is fitted recessed into the wall or partition. The front plates overlap the chassis back box by 10mm at each edge, to give a neat finish. A choice of front plates provides up to 48 ‘Universal’ cutouts.

Front plates with ‘Universal’ connector holes are available in two versions. Numbered sequentially (e.g. 1-12, 1-16 etc.) or with no identification to allow clients own labeling or custom engraving if required. A custom engraving service being provided by Canford, see CANFORD CUSTOM LASER ENGRAVING SERVICE. The back chassis is supplied with a selection of mounting holes and cable access holes in the rear face. Supplied with necessary hardware to assemble box. Finished in black.

Neutrik ‘D’ Series Connectors

The ‘D’ series mounting flange is used by Neutrik for a wide variety of connector types including male and female XLR’s, 3-pole jack socket (A and B gauge), recessed RCA (phono), ‘Ethercon’ RJ45 data connector, USB, Firewire, ‘Speakon’ loudspeaker, ‘Powercon’ mains power connectors and recessed BNC sockets. Most connector types can be front or rear mounted on the panel. These wallboxes are designed to offer the highest possible connector density in most cases, but the Neutrik ‘Speakon’ loudspeaker connectors must be alternately spaced (horizontally) with blanking plates as the width of the cable connector is greater than that of the chassis connector. It is strongly recommended that 42-029 Insulating cover is used with ‘Speakon’ and ‘Powercon’ connectors to protect against accidental contact with live pins at the rear of the front panel. Neutrik locking jack sockets may be front or rear mounted but must have the latch bar removed if rear mounted.

Switchcraft EH series D-SUB connectors

This elegant solution allows Switchcraft 9 pin and HDD15 pin D-sub back-to-back adaptors to be mounted in standard universal cutouts.

Canford Universal Series Connectors

Canford has expanded the possibilities by offering a further range of connectors and switches mounted on insulating mouldings which fit the ‘universal’ cut-outs. Flush mount and recessed adaptor plates, available in black or white, fitted with connectors should be selected from the ‘Universal Series Connectors’ range. Undrilled plates can be used to blank off unused holes or drilled to accept a wide variety of other connectors, switches and indicators.

Application note:

Most universal connectors are ideally mounted from the back of the front plate using M3x10mm pan head screws, nuts and shakeproof washers or nylock nuts, but may be mounted on the outside surface using countersunk screws. Many Neutrik DLX series connectors are available with M3 threaded mounting holes for rear mounting, requiring only M3x10mm pan head screws.

Optional accessories:

Connectors and hardware such as Universal connector U-bars, fixing screws, nuts and washers should be ordered separately. Mounting hardware finish: Chemical black (CB), bright nickel passivated (BNP), zinc-plated clear passivated (ZCP). Other screw and nut styles are also available, see fasteners.

Canford wallboxes can be supplied assembled and/or wired to your specific requirements. End plates and front plates can also be supplied with custom cutouts and engraved as required. Please contact Technical Support.

Ordering information:

Parts should be ordered separately. A complete wallbox requires 1 chassis, 1 top plate and 2 end plates.
