Simple passive devices, these baluns, used one at each end of a length of standard twisted-pair cabling, as used to wire buildings for computer networks, provide a means of sending up to HD-SDI video over a distance up to 45 metres.
500701 HD-SDI video
Each balun has a 75 ohm, male, BNC connector, attached to the cast aluminium casing, for connection to the SDI signal. An RJ45 socket is used to connect to a length of Cat5E/Cat6 cable. Up to 1.5 Gb/s uncompressed, un-encrypted digital video, (optionally including up to 16 channels of embedded audio and/or embedded time code), is supported.
Standards supported: SMPTE 259M (270Mb/s), SD(PAL, NTSC); SMPTE 292M (1.5 Gb/s), HD (720p, 1080i).
Maximum reach: Up to 100 / 120 / 150 metres using Cat5 / Cat5E / Cat6 UTP for SD signals; up to 30 / 45 / 45 metres using Cat5 / Cat5E / Cat6 UTP for HD signals. Note that the maximum distance is a function of the receiving equipment equaliser and the noise present in the environment.
Available as 500701-2PK two pack.
Dimensions: 20 x 26 x 47 (l x h x w)mm, not including the BNC connector. Weight: 44g.
